Re: The Following - TV Series

I thought the FBI/investigators would of learned their lesson in the first episode. When you suspect an immediate threat on somebody, maybe you should take them to a safe house.

I mean 'the following' constructed a secret passageway from the neighbors house to the original final victim's closet. What do you think they could do in a house where the serial killer actually lived for however many years. (I'm actually assuming the ex-wife didn't move, but even if she didn't they did know that the nanny was involved.)

I'm liking the show so far and usually don't really care about unrealistic plot points in TV shows. That said, as soon as they knew the ex-wife was the target I was saying to myself "Okay, they are going to move her this time right?"

Where did the guy appear from? The closet? Bacon's character would not have heard an old closet door creaking open or saw the figure in the mirrors reflection?

That scene was bush league IMO.
That scene was dumb. There's a row of Poe masks on a shelf along the wall, and Bacon doesn't realize that one of them has a torso and legs underneath? He could have walked in from another room, but it looked like he came from the corner of the room.

Also how did fatty, ginger cop turn into Spiderman and was able to quietly descend from the AC vents?

Ignoring the Poe mask scene, the cop dropping from the ceiling just about made my eyes suffer damage from the amount of rolling they did.

But, I'm in it for the ride. This show isn't gonna be ground breaking. It's not gonna make me want to think or figure something out. It's just your flash thriller.

Rare to see those in television outside of film. I'm sure that's why it attracted so many movie "stars."

Yea, I thought that too and went back and re-watched the scene. As Bacon is first looking at the masks there is not a torso or anything underneath. However, once he picks up his book, when he puts it down there's now someone behind him. I can only assume we are supposed to think that the guy was in the closet, only he would've had to put the poe mask on (I think), in the same room w/ bacon while he is right behind him and then attack.... or are we to believe the mask he was wearing was not one of those poe masks which was on display and this guy just walks around the house wearing his house poe mask? lol

Honestly I hadn't watched the rest of the episode. After that scene I rewound it on my dvr a few times to piece together what I saw and then had to leave for work.... was watching the dvr'd episode this morning.

I think you're thinking too hard about it.

It's simply a production/editing decision to not have the feet there because then it would kill the suspense.

The truth is it's bush league like you said. It was shot in a way to deceive us.

Yeah, that will be it for me as well. If the ex-wife and/or Shawn Ashmore's character are in on it too, that will also be a show stopper for me.

Purefoy, Bacon and the cops are carrying the show for me right now, I'm not feeling any of the members of the "Following" right now, yeah, they're evil and sociopathic, but not very interesting.

That's interesting because I have Ashmore's character Mike Weston pegged as the FBI insider for Joe Carroll.

In with you CMH As for the lady agent I doubt she's the mole, but what I wouldn't be surprised is her playing Bacon & Joe against each other for her own personal gain within the FBI

See, comments like this are gonna make me start analyzing the show!

I like that theory. Would be interesting to throw in a third side with their own agenda. Shouldn't have to be so black and white.

Man....finished episode 2... I dunno man... this show fills a void because I like a cop drama, but I am finding certain things annoying...

Like the decision to make law enforcement into the bumbling idiots who cannot secure a room, home, etc. It's a tired approach...

                            That is a concern.

I don't consider this a typical cop drama though.
