Adobe After Effects & Premier Pro, etc.

Hi, does anyone use Adobe CS products, and if so can you tell me a little bit about them? My questions are as follows:
    <O></O>
    1. What if I just want to buy video editing software for my PC (not Mac), would I need to buy the entire Adobe CS that includes Photoshop, Illustrator, and all other programs, or can I buy the software I want in pieces?<O></O>
    <O></O>
    2. Which programs do I use for video editing software, is it After Effects and Premier Pro only, or would I need something else?<O></O>
    <O></O>
    3. I downloaded some templates for After Effects CS3. Do these templates work with photo montages or are they for video only?<O></O>
    <O></O>
    4. What is sound booth and what does it do?<O></O>
    <O></O>
    5. What is the difference between After Effects and Premier Pro? I can't find a good description on what each do independently.<O></O>

    Thank you.

If you just want Vid editing, you just need premier, though I think thats in like 3rd place as far as how often it is used in the Pro world.

AE is used more for making custom animation and movement that can be then implemented into Premier. After Effect is not for tha faint of heart though, and you will need training to be able to do anything of consequence.

Do you recommend something better for both? I happen to have Avid, but my PC can't run it yet - about to get an upgrade.

Avid is an industry norm on the pc side, final cut for mac.

Edit: Avid is also available for mac. I've used avid for a few years and it's great. Fairly easy to learn the basics, anything complex will take some time to learn but not hard.
