    Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome

EW reports that Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome will premiere its first episode in just a few short days. On Friday, November 9, the first installment of the Web series will be posted on Youtube channel Machinima Prime. Blood and Chrome will be eventually be available as ten short episodes, at seven to twelve minutes apiece. Machinima released a new trailer for the series along with the premiere announcement, showing off more robust action and atmosphere than previous glimpses.

Blood and Chrome will follow the early years of eventual Galactica leader William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), as the Twelve Colonies struggle through their first war with the Cylons. If the trailer is anything to go by, it looks as if Adama faces brutal battles with the toasters both in the cockpit of his Viper and hand-to-hand on the ground. Blood and Chrome will co-star Ben Cotton (Alcatraz), Jill Teed (This Means War), and Lili Bordán (The River).

      Blu Ray announced....

So say we all! The frakkin' toasters are back in an action-packed movie coming to Blu-ray this February! In an early announcement to retailers, Universal Studios says 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' will have a Blu-ray release on February 19.

An all-new chapter in the “Battlestar Galactica” saga, 'Blood & Chrome' takes place in the midst of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Though Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton, “Alcatraz”), the two men must set their differences aside when a routine escort mission with an enigmatic passenger (Lili Bordán, “Silent Witness”) turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.

Fans will first be able to view 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' when it premieres exclusively on Machinima’s premium channel, Machinima Prime (http://www.youtube.com/MachinimaPrime), beginning November 9, 2012. It will be presented as 10 episode chapters set to run through February 2013 and be followed by a two-hour movie premiere on Syfy. A special never-before-seen unrated version of this explosive broadcast event will then be available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, DVD and Digital Download.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: 13 Deleted Scenes (including 7 exclusive to Blu-ray) and Blood & Chrome: Visual Effects – Discover how the ground-breaking use of visual effects brought the world of Battlestar Galactica to life like you’ve never seen before!

Did anyone watch the 'Caprica' series? My wife and I became HUGE fans of the new BSG when we were introduced to it, but our friends (who brought the series to our attention) said that 'Caprica' changed some of the background story from the series and was pretty terrible.

          This looks pretty sweet, though!

I liked Caprica, it had a strong cast and some interesting ideas, but the story it was telling wasn't going to appeal to most sci-fi fans. Decompression is not a style that thrives in this genre.

Blood and Chrome is off to a strong start, and should do well. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of the series, but I'm just not really fond of prequels. Knowing that no what they set up during the series, they have to arrive at endpoint Z, lessens the suspense exponentially.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Love that Adama is a cocky sob. I hope we get to see Colonial Tigh in the series too.
