Seeing it tomorrow as well, but no IMAX. I'm sure this would look incredible on that screen, though.

Re: Mad Max 4: Fury Road (MadMax)
Wow wow wow. Movie of the year!
Probably the most intense movie I've seen and I swear there are record amount of explosions in this. If you can, see it IMAX, the sound and score was awesome.
Beautiful movie too, some great shots. Charlize killed it in this movie, great performance by her.
I can't wait to see this again. So many oh **** moments. I probably need to settle down before really meaning this but this became an instant classic for me.
Edit: One thing I forgot to add was how great the villain was. It's great they were able to get the same actor from the first Mad Max, he was so menacing. Also big ups to the guy who played Beast and the Zombie from Warm Bodies, he also had a great performance. Kid is up and coming.
This movie is psychotically spectacular. I love it, and thank you George Miller for making a masterpiece. This movie is a bar setter for sure.Last edited by RockinDaMike; 05-14-2015, 09:04 AM.Comment

Wanted to see it this weekend but might miss out. My mother in law will be home this weekend and this doesn't seem like her type of movie.
All good though. I'll try and go with the wife during the week, as she's basically said you go this weekend "You sleep on the couch" lol

IN-FREAKING-SANE!!!!

Re: Mad Max 4: Fury Road (MadMax)
Cinematography: Incredible
Score: Incredible
Action: Incredible
Story/Acting: Somewhat forgettable
There is obviously no questioning the very unique and imaginative character/prop design and it does a great job of one upping itself, giving you something even more visually stimulating than any moment before. The fight scenes are positively outrageous and keep you glued to the screen, waiting for each enemy to be disposed of in an even more ridiculous way than the last. It's big, it's fast paced, it's loud and brilliant in it's own right.
However, the hollow narrative, plot holes and lack of development and dialogue from the supposed main character leaves a lot to be desired in that regard and for me detracted from the overall experience of the film. Id personally give it a 7/10.Last edited by JODYE; 05-15-2015, 01:32 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

I probably enjoyed the swinging guitar guy way too much.

Re: Mad Max 4: Fury Road (MadMax)
Not sure what that means. Was The Avengers supposed to have more of a female presence in it from the get go? Or do you mean feminist in some other definition (which is a term in and of itself that has changed meanings over the decades).Comment

Re: Mad Max 4: Fury Road (MadMax)
I think The Avengers have dropped the ball and missed an opportunity with pushing a strong female lead that sheds contrite character traits. I wouldn't have expected Mad Max to delve into women's liberation, man's propensity to war with everything, and the hope of sustaining and nurturing life. The Avengers gets perfectly warranted **** for how Black Widow has been handled. It was more a jab at Marvel than anything.
