Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States

Didn't see a thread on this, anyone catch any of the episodes? I was curious to see it and somehow forgot about it and it's coming to an end now but the episode lineup looked intriguing....

    1x01 -- Nov 12, 2012 -- World War II
    1x02 -- Nov 19, 2012 -- Roosevelt, Truman & Wallace
    1x03 -- Nov 26, 2012 -- The Bomb
    1x04 -- Dec 03, 2012 -- The Cold War: 1945-1950
    1x05 -- Dec 10, 2012 -- The '50s: Eisenhower, The Bomb & The T
    1x06 -- Dec 17, 2012 -- JFK: To The Brink
    1x07 -- Dec 24, 2012 -- Johnson, Nixon & Vietnam: Reversal Of
    1x08 -- Dec 31, 2012 -- Reagan Gorbachev & Third World-Rise of
    1x09 -- Jan 07, 2013 -- Bush & Clinton: Squandered Peace-New W
    1x10 -- Jan 14, 2013 -- Bush & Obama - Age of Terror

For anyone that saw it, keeping personal opinions on the subject matter itself out of the equation, was it well done? Thinking of finding a way to catch up if it's worth it but also don't want to waste my time if it was poorly done and just not worth the time.

What channel is this on? I didn't even know that it existed.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Same. Looks like it's on Showtime.

I'm going to check it out.

I didn't know about this either. I'll have to find a way to see it. Thanks for the heads up.

Well if any of you guys get a chance to see it and can let me know if its worth it that would be much appreciated. The girlfriend is trying to catch up on Game of Thrones having only seen the very first episode so I got nothing but time on my hands as she watches that consistently.

I don't see how you can discuss this on here within the confines of the TOS

I never heard of this... but if it's on Showtime I won't be able to watch anyway.

FYI, most, if not all of the episodes are on youtube.

Because Im not asking anyone to offer their opinion on the subject matter, Im asking how well done it is. 10 episodes is a lot to try and get into if it ends up being a waste so I wanted to know if the shows themselves are well done or more conspiracy theorist in nature and therefor wouldnt be of any interest to me.

Not sure how I didn't see a preview for this while watching Dexter and Homeland on Showtime.

Re: Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States

It's Oliver Stone, it's out there with his many, many other FAR left, pro communist, conspiratorial works. It's misleading information and half truths all spun together with a far left slant to try to force you into his views. The entire thing is propaganda, pure and simple.

This is all Stone's M.O., same as he's done with all his "documentaries", so I don't know how this can be discussed any further without slipping into political hornets nest.

It was going OK until you insisted upon bringing it there.

                          Ridiculous.

So let's say that in watching a segment of this, one discovers a blatant flaw in the presentation that CANNOT be separated from the political aspect of the "untold history". But, Stone is presenting it as the truth because, like many people who have a forum like writers, directors, actors, musicians, journalists, etc., there is a purpose to promote/convince, NOT report or present in the purest of objective intentions. Then how in the world does this not get discussed, at least around here, without approaching violating or outright violating the TOS. It's like saying, let's talk professional sports around here, but God forbid you say anything about contracts, when we all know it's enveloped in the discussion (ok, ok, I'm sorry I mentioned "God").

Alright well... I guess this needs to get locked up.
