Agreed. The top programs I have all my students run. No need for antivirus or virus scanners - just run CCLeaner or Malwarebytes once a month, and you're good.

              Well that's not true.

Has worked for me - and several students. It's more of a convenience thing too because a lot of antivirus out there really slows down your PC.

Of course that slowness could depend on your specs; but I've never had a problem with individuals completely removing their antivirus - and just using ccleaner and malwarebytes.

I use Norton internet security for the web but no antivirus programs just use ccleaner to clean out my computer & have had no problems at all. I don't like to run to many programs.

I use Avast. Haven't had to run anything like CCleaner and Malwarebytes in ages.

CCleaner is used for general maintenance. Has noting to do with AV/IS. Not sure what correlation, if any, you're drawing between it and Avast.
