    1st gen Ipad

Is the 1st gen Ipad a cute museum piece at this point?

Browsing on mine is becoming a very frustrating experience. Safari crashes repeatedly. Chrome is sluggish and I don't like how it manages destinations (home page, bookmarks etc). God forbid I try to type into a form (like this post). And lets not even talk about YouTube.

I recently restored it/deleted all data. All I have on it right now for apps are Chrome, Kindle reader and *blush* Candy Crush.

I do not have the cash to upgrade even to a 2, but with trade in of the IPad I could afford something like a FireHD, Galaxy Tab 2 7" or the smallest Chromebook. Any opinions on any of these? I'm almost leaning toward the Chromebook, since I really miss the keyboard when I'm using the iPad.

I think something is just wrong with your Ipad. My sister in law has the 1st gen Ipad and she has no problem browsing the web or watching Youtube videos on it and she uses it daily.

Nexus 7 is pretty good from what I've heard.
