Last week Nvidia’s new graphics card leaked to the press with a few hints as to what kind of performance jump we can expect. Today, Nvidia has officially launched that card as the GeForce GTX Titan.
The Titan should be viewed as the successor to the GeForce GTX 680 , and this is clear to see if you start comparing the specs. For example, the GTX 680 has 1,536 shader cores across 8 Streaming Mulitprocessor Units (SMX). The Titan on the other hand has 2,688 shader cores and 14 SMX. The available RAM has also increased significantly, and the Titan ships with 6GB instead of the GTX 680′s typical 2GB.
