Had this come out before Olympus...I actually would've thought it looks like the better movie based on both initial trailers, but seeing as how the same exact movie pretty much just came out with a slightly better cast (Freeman/Eckhart > Tatum, Foxx > Butler, for me in this case)....yeah. Don't see this one going so well.

Well this looks a little more bigger in scope and Roland Emmerich directing so hm, he has some faults but he knows how to put together explosive action scenes.

LOL@ "from the director of Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012".

          Expand your genre bruh.

It's like this guy must've lived his whole life writing end of the world movie scripts. White House Down? LOL...must've took a long time to come up with that name.

I honestly thought this was going to be about some Syfy version of Olympus Has Fallen. Those Syfy knockoffs are always good for a few laughs.

Eh, there's lots of directors and producers who are genre guys. If he were directing movies in the '50s he'd definitely be cranking out the sci-fi alien flicks.

BTW he didn't write this flick.

This is the equivalent to Day After Tomorrow (I think that's the name) and armageddon coming out within a couple of months of eachother.

Those B rated movies suck man. I remember seeing Battle Los Angeles at the movies then on Thanksgiving it's on Netflix. Turns out to be a B rated knockoff with Kel from Keenan and Kel starring in it.

Oh man... but anyway, this kinda looks more hollywood explosion scene type stuff than the other one. LOL@ this stuff nowadays

Deep Impact and Armageddon are the two movies you're thinking of. They were released 2 months from each other. Interestingly, Morgan Freeman was involved in Deep Impact just like how he's involved in Olympus Has Fallen.

LOL yeah that's the one. Yep Morgan Freeman being involved in both of these scenarios is the irony.

They need to rename this to Olympus Has Fallen 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I think you know what I meant.

This just screams rush job by a rival studio (re: suits/execs) who knew Olympus was coming out. The name of the movie itself gives evidence to that.

And I agree with others that this just seems like one big continual explosion flick.

Channing Tatum saves the White House and Muhammad Ali's right hand man (Jamie Foxx) plays his trusty sidekick? Morgan Freeman>>>>>>

How about this for a name-

I think Jaime Fox might be the president in this one?

Speaking of which, Roland Emmerich has had four movies with fictional presidents now (probably more, but from his blockbuster movies that I've seen...):

                            Stanley Anderson
                            Perry King
                            Danny Glover
                            Jamie Foxx?

I see they're playing the "Obama" thing these days.
