In all seriousness, I go into a movie expecting to enjoy it, not to critique everything wrong with it. I never notice 90% of what the movie snobs here criticize.
I may be overanalytical with quite a lot of things, but you'll see me be more than okay with turning of my brain for films or just enjoying it.

Sometimes what I do in my impressions, though, is compare it to how it is rated/viewed as a whole. Not that they set the bar for me, but I have a reason to say, "Here's why I don't agree with that." On the flip side, I've reviewed plenty of films where I like it and the masses dislike it.

Now remember, I didn't dislike this movie. I just said, "Good, not great." This is not on the same level as Finding Nemo, and felt more like a spin-off than a sequel. It was like a Lion King 1 1/2, if you will (note that I haven't seen that movie, but it is a telling from Timon & Pumba's point of view with extra story thrown around). It doesn't help that Dory was never my favorite to begin with, but it had other clunky parts. Yet it still had more excellent "Pixar-like" parts.

I thought it was ok, not close to a classic like the first one. Pretty forgettable for me.

I was reminded of Zootopia throughout the movie and how much better that was.

Hoping The Incredibles 2 knocks out of the park.

Just like the first one, it was good but I didn't think it was anything special. The best part of the movie was the Sigourney Weaver gag because it was so out of left field. The sea lions were good too but the octopus dude (I don't even remember his name, that's an indictment enough) was incredibly bland.

It was a good movie. But after Inside Out, I thought Pixar was back to being adventurous with it films. This unfortunately was a retread.

I do like the message that everyone has a mental or physical hiccup but that shouldn't stop anyone from trying to succeed anyway. That was a nice message. But still this is not one of Pixar's masterclass films.

The short in the beginning was pretty good

Piper was freakin' amazing. I'd watch that again and again if I could.

So if you missed Finding Dory in theaters, then you probably missed the short in front of it called Piper. I urge everybody to watch this right now as it has struck on YouTube. It's both gorgeous and adorable:

It couldn't find its way to the Oscars (rightfully so), but it has already found its way to Netflix.
