Woodgod. It'd be a helluva nickname. I mean even better than T-Bone.

            But we digress.....

                    Re: Thor: The Dark World

I thought the first movie was a 2-out-of-4 movie at best.
I didn't like how a good chunk of the movie played out on a different planet. It took away from the fun that seeing a superhero on earth can deliver.
And now, the sequel looks like they don't even bother having anything to do with Earth.
I'll be passing on this film.

                        Re: Thor: The Dark World

I only really read like one Thor comic, it was like a mini-series kinda deal, forgot what it was titled, but it was very violent. I got the impression that, and correct me if I am wrong, that was kinda the whole deal with the norse mythology, ya know, big dudes, horses, giant war hammers/axes/maces, chopping dudes heads off, that kinda stuff.

I definitely wouldn't mind the movie going a darker route than the first (which I enjoyed almost as much as Captain America)

                            Re: Thor: The Dark World

Just saw Thor: The Dark World. Immediate impressions:

                            1. Way better than Thor 1.
                            2. We're not stuck in New Mexico, which is really nice. Lots of Asgard/other world stuff.
                            3. The battles are, again, better than Thor 1.
                            4. Odin's father's name is Bor. I found that amazing. Son of Bor!
                            5. Malekith (the big bad) is ehhhh... Seriously, what's up with all the Marvel villains being forgettable (except for Loki)?
                            6. Jane/Thor love story is, once again, negligible.
                            7. Heimdall....YOU HAD ONE JOB

The ending sets things up pretty interestingly for Thor's future stand-alone films. Also, there are TWO credit scenes. One is mid-credits, the other at the end. The middle one is what you won't want to miss.

This movie was awesome and was surprisingly funny too. Must see for comic book fans IMO. A good all around film either way though! Stay for the credits...
