Haven't watched this season yet. The writers and producers are preparing the season finale to also serve as a suitable series finale in case it's not picked up again.

Hate when potential series finales get announced during a season. Would've been better to enjoy the ending of the show with a full season worth of stuff rather than it just coming out of nowhere months before the end. And I like to watch back a whole series in the months leading up to the series finale. Don't think it's possible with Shield if it's done in 2-3 months.

Though I feel like the S4 finale(up until the lights out part) could've served as a series finale too. They had a similar ending scene in S4 as they had ending credit scene in the first Avengers movie

I definitely got a “shawarma” vibe from that scene when I saw it.

Any chance they could be ending the series in order to release the characters to the film division? I remember one of the higher ups saying in an interview that the reason they hadn’t crossed over was because the two divisions were separate and they didn’t want to interfere with the other’s potential long term storylines or something along those lines.

Much better arc already compared to the space one.

Deke somehow managed to get sent to the past/present. Good that they're keeping him around because he was one of only few people who I liked from that space arc(Kasius one of the main others).

Yo-Yo is turning into her future self? Weird how that'd work since her future self only happened because of Kasius?

Biggest shock for me is that Ruby is evil. Thought maybe they were hinting at her going against her moms side and helping Shield, but now seems like she's the one who'll go overboard against Shield.

Yeah, I liked this episode. I'm also glad Deke survived. I do wish Enoch survived, too.

I thought the Yoyo bit was weird, like you said. I guess they're in some kind of time loop, where they'll always end up in that future. The Ruby bit fell flat for me but it looks like she'll be one of the big villains for the rest of the season.

I'm getting worried about Phil...

Also, anyone else get Suicide Squad-vibes in the "post credits" scene?

If this is final season, maybe Coulson has to die? Or at least be removed so if show continues he's gone, but regardless, a small chance he could be back in movies.

Why do you think he "has to die?" I think he could definitely be brought back to the movies without killing him off.
