Rewatching I see that this new small group is just a few mercenaries hired to help the leftover shield group. Apparently although Garrett was stopped Hydra wasn't completely shut down.

You still have the core people there minus the scientist girl and ward.

Coulson had been flying around the world trying to recruit and rebuild shield but could only spot the sincere and non traitor types in person.

I think the rest of the story you most likely have but that explains the extras who died in the end anyway.

Also Fitz not really having his friend there is interesting because he sees and talks to her and she makes out things he can't fully say almost like his subconscious. Can't wait to see how that turns out

Thought it was strange that Simmons was there with Fitz but not speaking at all with Trip. Twist at the end cleared that up.

I also don't get how crusher beat that SUV to some random street corner out of the blue when the military couldn't even do it

Getting back into this show...Tried to watch the first couple of episodes and got bored, but am really getting into it now. So far 6/22 of Season 1.

The wife and I finally got caught up on Season 1. Managed to watch all 22 episodes of season 1 in 4 days haha.

That was CRAZY. That alone makes me want to see next weeks episode right now!

For a split second in todays episode, I actually thought maybe Fitz wasn't crazy and he perfected cloaking or something and Simmons was actually there,but she just wanted to "go dark" from the SHIELD agents. But now that I saw preview for next week....there goes my theory lol, and makes everything even more crazy.

Also..."The Captain" is Skyes dad?!?(I'm calling him the captain cause that was his characters nickname on How I Met Your Mother). Every episode just makes things crazier and crazier.

This is first episode ever of the show without Ward isn't it? Sucked that he's not gonna be important anymore(at least for now). But either way, this episode was so much better than the last one.

I don't like to watch the previews for the following week gives to much away of what is going to happen. I like going in not knowing what to expect.

Just finished the first 2 episodes and I'm really impressed on how they handled the Absorbing Man and the overall flow. The mix-up of the main cast doesn't bother me a bit as I wasn't that captured by last year's team. But as been indicated, I'm sure it's part of the bigger Marvel picture.

Guess that explains everything lol. The main reason I didn't think she was undercover is cause like Skye said...Simmons is a HORRIBLE liar. It's gonna be intense having Simmons on the bad guys side cause the bad guys this season are much more evil than bad guys last season. One slip up and that's it.

Somehow I have a feeling it'd all end with Fitz somehow saving Simmons.

And speaking of Fitz...The whole stuff with Fitz and Ward was cool. First time they've even seen each other since Ward "saved" Fitz/Simmons. Still hoping Ward gets bigger role eventually in the season. This Ward is cooler than the last one.

Great episode tonight. I really like the direction the show has gone this season.
