Re: Next Lohan: Amanda Bynes
This is what happens when rich people don't and/or can't find work and yet still have an obscene amount of money.
Edit: Not that them having an obscene amount of money is a bad thing. Good for them. Unfortunately for the majority of the human populace, a lot of us don't handle having just gobs of money lying around well. Especially if we don't have a distraction (such as work or a hobby) to keep us occupied and off the obscene amount of money we have that's just lying around waiting to be spent...Last edited by DukeC; 05-29-2013, 12:11 PM.Comment

Re: Next Lohan: Amanda Bynes
Says they don't care.
Makes four paragraph post about it.
In all seriousness, I'm not heartbroken and I wouldn't even know about it if not for OS and Twitter randomness. Just like Lohan, Bynes was a huge child star when I was a kid.Comment

Re: Next Lohan: Amanda Bynes
Why do people even care about this lady? Is it because she is mildly attractive (on a good day, apparently) or because we all like to see people fail?
I find it troubling that people provide the platform for these people to take, **** up on and ruin themselves and then we act like we didn't have a hand in it. But we follow the news, we give them the attention they are so clearly craving..
And while I don't follow the celebrity news, I don't do nearly enough to inform other people to the worthlessness of it all, so I guess I'm as bad as them..
My faith in humanity was lost a while ago, due to some **** that was actually important, too. Go figure? What's more distressing; obsessing about successful celebrities or championing their demise and downfall? Not even talking about any here, specifically, but the lost and misguided I encounter on a dailybasis. It's disheartening.Comment

Re: Next Lohan: Amanda Bynes
I know, I spent 2 more minutes providing my thoughts than I probably should have. Good thing I didn't get into how I really feel.
I guess my point was, "why?" I didn't realize the influence she had as a child actor. Not having access to this stuff as a kid apparently saved me a lot of future stress. I guess it just seems like a lot of these people have larger issues, specifically mental issues, that may or may not also involve drug use. Now, and maybe I'm wrong about this, but it seems like most of the time, effort and energy is spent on showcasing their downfall and cracking jokes about their behavior when the larger issue is ignored. At least that's my takeaway when these stories pop up.
Didn't mean to **** on anyone's parade, even if this particular parade is a **** fest in and of itself..Last edited by skywalkah; 05-29-2013, 12:30 PM.Comment

Re: Next Lohan: Amanda Bynes
Every time there is a celeb news I feel like Roger in Mad Men. I just don't get it.
I guess I never watched any of her stuff because I never thought she was as successful as Lohan or even Duff for that matter.

Re: Next Lohan: Amanda Bynes
Had you watched Nickelodeon in the late 90s? She is younger than people like Kenan and Kel, but she joined the All That cast, had her own show on Nickelodeon (actually called The Amanda Show), was on the Figure It Out celebrity panel, then had a show on ABC Family called What I Like About You. She was in Big Fat Liar with Frankie Muniz and Paul Giamatti, then in that She's the Man soccer movie that 13 was talking about. I think she was also the heavily Christian chick in Easy A.
These aren't really attractive shows to most of us on OS, but it's tough to not know of her existence in some capacity. I guess you would have had to watch Nickelodeon to truly be aware of who she is, because I can see how I wouldn't really know anything about her if I didn't see her in those shows.Last edited by Blzer; 05-29-2013, 04:08 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
