Goodbye from the World of Tomorrow(Futurama)

I saw the other thread bumped, so thought I might as well make a thread for the final(FINAL) season(most likely ever) of Futurama.

Started up in 1999, ran for a few years before being cancelled in 2003. Made a comeback as a movie series from 2008-2009 then started back up as a TV series from 2010-2013.

Now 2013 seems to be the final series of the show. Comedy Central is canceling them!

Sucks to see a show like Futurama not given a chance on a big network again, while shows like Family Guy continue going downhill on Fox. I really wish someone picks up Futurama, but the finale of this upcoming season is set up to be the series finale, so don't know if it'd be possible to bring it back again.

The final season airs 13 episodes(starting June 19th) and series finale airs on September 4th.

Fox cancelled American Dad!


I hope this means they've thought about having Futurama again. Would be cool to see them "end" futurama in September 2013 just to say that September 2014 it's coming back.

7 seasons, good run. Sad to see it go but happy that we got new episodes after that first cancellation.

I hope it does get picked up by someone else. Not sure about in USA, but in Canada, Comedy has dropped numerous shows like South Park,Simpsons and Tosh.O, so if USA is a similar way, maybe that's really why Futurama got cancelled?

I'm still holding out that Fox decides to bring back Futurama and puts them into the Sunday night lineup starting in fall 2014.

Comedy Network in Canada doesn't seem to ever had anything to do with the US but I haven't watched it in long time.

Fox does have a slot open.

The "series finale" really didn't seem like a typical series finale. Would've been cool if they had all the main characters do alot more. The moon stuff was cool though, going back to the place they made their first delivery.

The end of the episode basically set themselves up for 2 scenarios:
1.Reruns that'd basically tie in with the finale(since the finale was about "going back")

2.New season picking up where they left off

Guess they had to make an ending that'd leave them able to have a new season if another network ever picked them up
