Anyone Remembers The HBO Series OZ...?

I remember watching this in the 90s as a young teenager which isn't recommended for kids but boy oh boy this show was something else even for a 14 year old teenager at the time...I loved it!. I watched the first 2 seasons until my parents unsubscribed from HBO....

With that said a friend of mines (the same guy who let me borrowed the Star Wars collection) has the complete dvd set with all the episodes and I am soooo watching this....

Great show. Very graphic and explicit at times. The character development was really good, I thought.

Used to love this show! Not even one boring episode. Not extremely realistic (or so I thought), but still a great one.

This show was great. I think it gets overlooked because The Sopranos came along around season 2 or 3.

It was a gritty show and helped launch the cable drama movement. David Simon said this show encouraged him to make the Wire. Didn't really get into Oz, but I remember enjoying several episodes.

It was a much watch for me. I have to say not as good, but more "hard hitting" than The Wire.

A lot of good actors got there start there.

Oz and The Soprano's are the two shows that really got me into watching TV dramas. As far as HBO series' go Oz wouldn't be in my Top 5 (The Soprano's Six Feet Under, The Wire, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire beat it out). However it may still be in my Top 10 all-time. It was such a great show with a lot of interesting characters too.

J.K. Simmons can play as many characters as he wants, but for me he'll always be Vern Schillinger.

Certainly a memorable role, but I think JK has distanced himself from Schillinger.
