Wow that was a very good episode. The scene with Nero and Jax was so intense...and Clay was amazing this episode!

            Sure looked that way

Knew she was gonna be in the episode, cause I know the actresses name, one of the bad parts of watching tv/movies in 2013, haha

Re: Sons of Anarchy (Season 6)

This season has been okay, but I'm getting major Season 3 Deja Vu from it.

Jax makes a backroom deal with the DA (in S3 it was Stahl) to get the IRA. Galen is basically the same as Jimmy O. The Irish Kings were fed up with Jimmy now they're fed up with Galen. Gemma/Tara still at odds. Jax still wants out of guns. No one else really has anything going on. All we need now is a kidnapping and we'll pretty much have a straight rehash.

The one redeeming thing about this season for me is Tara's flipping on Jax. That story-line is pretty much season saving for me. However, if she somehow comes out of this unscathed then this is going to be a huge disappointment.

I disagree. This season has could end up being the very best depending on how it ends. I think Nero has been a great addition...somewhat of a 'middle ground' which we didnt see on the show previously. Plus Clay is still lurking, but I don't see that getting resolved until the series ends.

I do agree about the Gemma vs. Tara feud needing to wrap up. Hopefully that happens and the final season should be about the rise or fall of Jax, Clay and/or SAMCRO.

I think this season has been great, but I still agree about Jeremy's story repetition. That is a mark I have against the show as a whole, though.

I think it would have to totally fumble the remaining episodes not to be the best. To me it's no contest and the season's not over yet.

You're obviously a deep watcher of the show but to call this an almost straight rehash of Season 3 is beyond a reach. Season 3 had a backroom deal, this season has a backroom deal....wow..the similarities. You make a correlation with both seasons because of tensions with Gemma/Tara? What does that mean? The season is different if they get along and REALLY different if they end up in bed with one another? Jax still wants out of guns. Isn't Jax trying to go legit a major plotline of this show? I don't get your argument, but mostly I don't understand why you haven't been blown away by this season.

If it wasn't for Jimmy and Ron this season I could see this season as being second or third best, but they've really elevated this season with their performances. Hell, even Jax ain't so corny anymore.

Patterson is a mirror image of Stahl in S3. Galen is the same with Jimmy O. Jax cut a deal with Stahl to give up the IRA in S3 and he made a deal with Patterson to give up the IRA this season. You don't see how that is at least a little bit similar?

Gemma is one of the evilest characters on television (she had a hand in killing Jax's father, almost killed his kids while driving drunk (then lied about it and tried to say she was ran off the road), she tried to help Clay cover up Piney's death, etc.) yet after all of those she always comes out smelling like a rose in Jax's eyes. It's the same thing over and over again. The good thing is that I believe that the "round and round" with her and Tara should be over now, but I swear if they end up being "okay" after all of this I'm going to be pissed.

With Jax, if I had a nickle every time he said that he wanted to make the club legit or that he wants out or that he wants Gemma out of their life, I'd have about a dollar. And yes, I realize that getting out of guns is a major plot point. Every season someone (Clay, the IRA, the Cartel, Pope) force him to continue to distribute. That's a big part of the show and I get that. However, I would just like to see them switch it up a little bit. Hopefully, this season is that last of the "I want you to push guns", "No, I want out of guns" seasons. So far, the only season that I can think of that wasn't about selling guns was Season 2 and that was one of my favorites.

In the past we've had an occasional subplot with other characters. Like Juice being blackmailed and Tig with his daughter, etc. but this year no one other than the Big 4 (Jax, Tara, Gemma and Clay, you could throw Niro in as the 5th) really have anything going on. Heck, Charlie has gotten more meaningful screen time than guys like Chibs, Tig, Bobby and Juice. I'm not complaining too much though because I guess it's better to have a show focused on one or two main story lines than then to waste time with something unnecessary. I just thought that was interesting.

Again, I don't hate the show, I am entertained while watching it or I would tune out for sure. I just find a lot of it a little too familiar.

Well, they did have that Bobby's "storyline" in the first couple of episodes but it felt very shallow and really out of place with the larger narrative of the season to me.

Really? Do you remember all the bad things Stahl did, including murdering her own girlfriend to see her agenda through? Stahl's a tough as nails woman who happens to be a psycho, Patterson is a tough as nails woman who happens to not be a psycho.
As to the IRA situation I don't think it's being used as a setup to murder Patterson. If that comes to be, I apologize.

I don't see that. There's a carryover of some plotlines, but it doesn't hurt the show (IMO).

                              We'll agree to disagree.

This show doesn't spend mush time on my DVR.

I shouldn't have used the term mirror image. Instead I should have said something like "play similar roles". I had actually forgotten about Stahl's partner. Stahl was undoubtedly the eviler of the two and Patterson doesn't appear to be that psycho (yet), but I don't think she will let anything stand in her way.

Only time will tell how her and Jax's deal will workout. I do believe that it's a more legit deal, but I'd be willing to bet it's not going to work out as planned.

I've probably clogged up this thread enough, so yes, we'll just agree to disagree for now.
