Re: Breaking Bad: The Final 8 - (premieres 8/11/13)
This show.
My goodness, what a ride it's been. Sunday's finale has me both excited, and sad, to see this phenomenal series come to and end.
SpoilerTodd is being shown as the one who would have been a perfect match for Heisenberg and his empire. He shows no emotion, and does his job sans remorse. He's an ice cold individual. Love his character. Meanwhile, we're seeing Jesse being stripped down to a big baby. His insistence on bringing down Walt has now led to the deaths of Gomie, Hank, and now the innocent Andrea. He's become someone you either feel sorry for, or someone you want to see snuffed out once and for all.
There's no way Heisenberg is going to let all involved get away with copying what he created. Watching that interview at the bar stoked the fire within, and there will be hell to pay. Lydia, Todd, Jack, and his group, are all on notice.
I still envision a final showdown between Walt and Jesse, and I'm hoping it all ends in a very Bad way. Will Jesse finally get his ultimate revenge? Does Heisenberg have the last say? Who survives, and who dies, is the question that we all can't wait to find out.Comment

On second thought (regarding the end of the last episode):
SpoilerI agree with those that are saying that Gretchen and Elliot are more of a motivational technique than anything else. Offing them would be pretty sadistic, even for someone like Walt. Walt is a monster, but he's not Todd. It would be overkill to me.
Walt exterminating the Nazis, killing Jesse, and killing the Grey Matter people in one swoop is too hard to accomplish, especially with all of this happening in "Ground Zero" for his crimes.

I'll spoiler it just because everyone else does it even though there is really no spoilers contained. People should watch the show by now!
SpoilerI'm with you. People say he can't get close enough to kill them with a gun because everyone knows who he is, but he can get close enough to put ricin in their meal or drink and no one will be the wiser? Not seeing it...Comment

I feel like if Walt was going to go after Gray Matter they would have re-introduced them earlier in the season and not just moments before the end of the penultimate episode.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Agree with it being a motivational tactic. Walt was ready to give himself in, but once he saw Gretchen and Elliot on TV he was reminded of how they forced him out and cost him potential billions of dollars. Now Jack and the Nazis have taken hundreds of millions of his money, so he's not going to let another group take what's he's earned.
I feel like if Walt was going to go after Gray Matter they would have re-introduced them earlier in the season and not just moments before the end of the penultimate episode.
Walt going after Gretchen and Elliot would deviate too far from where the plot of the entire series has taken us. We would have known more about the back story behind Gray Matter and Walt's falling out with them other than a brief flashback of a younger Walt writing chemistry equations on a chalkboard with Gretchen. Walt killing them would be too weird when we only have a broad scope of what happened at Gray Matter.
As for what will happen in the final episode, I think Walt's hiding out in the "Live Free or Die" state gives away what his intentions are. I think he'll wipe out the Nazis on his "revenge tour" and will die at the end. I don't know what happens in the middle or how Gretchen and Elliot will be involved. Presumably, there's going to be an altercation between Walt and Jesse, but Jesse killing Walt would be pretty cliche IMO. I'm confident Gilligan will wrap this series up perfectly though.I write things on the Internet.

It's been an exciting season, but I haven't been thrilled about Jesse's "Crybaby Rat" thing. He blames Mr White for so much but look what he's done.
My money's on Jesse surviving but it's not a sure thing.Comment

So this may actually be a spoiler for some people, but it's just a theory like everything else.
SpoilerDamon Lindelof tweeted this. For those who don't know, he's the head writer and one of the creators of Lost.

Yep, I think that's definitely what's going to happen. I think that may be more of a sure thing than most theories and kind of wish I hadn't read it until after seeing the finale, even if I had assumed that it's what would happen lol.Comment
