I missed the first couple minutes of the episode, how far into the future was Ted and The Mother's date?

3 days after the wedding.

Such a great episode. The last 5-10 minutes were so good and that scene wrapping up the stories of a lot of the side characters was great as well. I also loved Ted saying "8 years ago, I would have gave some big speech and professed my love" but instead he walks away only for The Mother to call him back over.

I can't believe we're down to 2 episodes. I do and I don't want the show to end if that makes sense.

Everybody knows how unhappy I've been with the last few years and most of this season....but last night's episode was damn near perfect. Loved everything about it and there is real chemistry between the actors playing the mother and Ted.

Yep. The chemistry between The Mother and Ted is off the charts good. Like, Daphne/Niles, Sam/Diane good.

When Ted said the thing about giving a speech in the past and The Mother called him back, it was a nice little sign that she knew he was "the one" right there too. And the "remembering this" line was, well, let's just say that sometimes I turn into a 13 year old girl when I watch this show.

I don't know if I liked or disliked the "past characters" bit but I guess it worked. Felt kinda forced but eh. I laughed when Wayne Brady said "We met at a party."

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Ted should have meet the mother 2 or 3 seasons ago. Watching them together brings back feelings I got from the first several seasons of the show (IMO the show really had a story that was special and hit home for many people). I would have loved to see them go through all of their firsts like we have with marshal and Lilly. This episode reminded me of why this used to be my favorite show on television. When, you know, the story was actually relevant. I'm actually more disappointed that the series is coming to an end after this episode because it gave me a glimpse of what this show could have been the past few years.

Imagine how much more they could've done if the show was called something like "How I Married Your Mother" or something like that. They could've had the mother for like 2-3 seasons.

I definitely was at the "just watching for closure" stage for the early part of this season, but the last couple episodes have been pretty good. The figuring out what was going on with Lily, and then the date with Ted and the Mother were just amazing.

It's sad really. Seeing how they stepped it up the past couple episodes makes you think they just got lazy this season.

They did.....After all, they only expected the series to go 8 seasons, 9 was them getting lucky and getting 1 more season out of the show.

Though many episodes in season 7 and 8 weren't good either though....

This season hasn't been that bad. It's the few seasons prior that were wasted that make me angry.

I just think you can't spread a whole season out in one day or weekend. They should have made it be more than that.

I hope the Barney/Robin wedding episode is a double wedding one with flash forwards to Ted's wedding.
