Really enjoyed the premiere although I got kind of bored of the Marshall/angry woman storyline. Hopefully that doesn't last much longer.

Seems every episode has a small storyline that way. I didn't really care for the storylines involving Marvin last season but there was one in nearly every episode in season 8.

Really, really liked the premiere!
Love the mother too although i have gotten so tired of "whiny" Ted lately that i was hoping he would just end up single and lonely!
Thought the opening nights episodes were really well done.

Just turned on the DVR to catch up...the laugh track while Ted and Lily are in the car is really annoying. Hope it fades as the episode goes on.

Episode today wasn't anywhere close to as good as last week. Surprised the mother wasn't in it, I thought she was now a main character for the season?

Wonder if Barneys line to Ted will be anything serious or if it'll turn into a useless/joke cliffhanger instead(where they make people think it's a serious cliffhanger,but then next episode it ends up being a joke or something)

Cool to see that every episode is gonna have so much continuation from previous one(especially Lily..."Thank you Linus") lol

Ehh, I enjoyed it. I think I've enjoyed these first 2 (well 3, I guess) episodes more than most of the past 2 seasons or so. The main difference to me, aside from the obvious fact that they're not stringing things along now waiting for the end, is that the jokes just seem much better. The past few seasons felt a little forced and lacking in that department.

As for the ending, I hope it'll be serious but just judging by it being a cliffhanger and things they've done in the past, I definitely see it ending up as something Barney jokes about at the start of next week's episode. Eventually there is going to be that serious moment between him and Ted though.

EDIT: Almost forgot to mention, the throwback to the sword fight from Season 1 was great.

And the Lilly life lecture at the end of the episode combined with the flashbacks to some of Ted's biggest letdowns was the highlight for me. For some reason it's the serious moments in the show that usually end up being my favorites. They just do them so well.

You have to remember though, they've taken his character to what is basically rock bottom for him emotionally. It's just going to make it that much better when he finally meets the mother and finds the love of his life, especially when he thinks she's already there (Robin).

....cool episode. Loved the flashbacks during the lecture. All the Princess Bride references were a bit bizarre, lol. I hope the ending was serious.

Definitely true and I'm not saying he doesn't have the right to be whiny Ted, just hard to watch after a little while. Pretty excited to see what happens between Barney, Robin and Ted.

The episode hit home some with me. I'm seriously contemplating moving to another time zone and a big reason why is to leave all this **** here behind me. I can definitely relate to Ted on all of it.

Something I thought about.....

Lily is mad at Ted for not wanting to tell anyone else he's moving to Chicago, and she doesn't understand why he doesn't want to.

Sorta similar to her wedding when Ted didn't want to tell her/Marshall that he and Robin broke up, so seems strange that she doesn't get why Ted doesn't want to tell people at the wedding, yet a huge secret was kept from everyone at her wedding.

And I wonder how they'll do the Marshall becoming a judge thing, cause if Lily is this mad at Ted not wanting to tell people about him moving, wonder how it'll end up when Marshall tells her he's staying in New York.

And about the final line of this past episode...TVGuide preview spoils what happens next:
