Are people expecting them to pull a big, HIMYM-esque twist at the end? I'm not sure if they have the ability to at this point, because of how much they've revealed already.

Missed the first few minutes but so far, so good. Great start to the season.

I think there's still plenty of twists to come. I'm still kind of expecting the mother to have passed away when it's all said and done.

Not the funniest,but probably the best season premiere of the series.

And ya, the mother is awesome!

There's an episode called 'How Your Mother Met Me' so looks like that ruins any chance of a spinoff

I like the mother way more than I like Ted lol. Just 1 episode in and she's like my top 3 fave characters of the show.

And regarding the locket(this spoils the episode that just aired)

Why did Ted need to go to LA to get it from Stella....I thought the season 8 finale showed him getting the locket from the racecar box at his apartment....

I realllllllllllllllllllllllllllly like the mother. Like, a lot. She's ****ing adorable. Ending was eerie and cool though I'm not sure I preferred having the interaction between the two on screen without it being the ACTUAL meeting, you know?

Lots of bizarre things in this episode. From the potential hangup in the limo between Barney and Robin, to the cake. Just, I don't know. Didn't have to go that weird.

Also didn't care for the lady Marshall was dealing with, though I suppose that entire storyline was intended to be really annoying.

It was a decently funny and solid overall start though.

EDIT: Something that I want to comment on is how this show gets "the little things" right. It adds so much to the show, because you know that the writers are paying attention to every detail no matter how small to make it work. Like when Marshall and the lady were at the airline booth and the attendant said that there won't be any flights because a storm is working its' way up the coast. If you recall Ted at the train station last season, it's pouring.

I agree. The mother is awesome too, perfect for Ted. I think this'll be a great season where we relive some past moments and look to the future too.

These two episodes were the first ones I've watched live. I'm not used to having to wait a week in between episodes. This is already killing me. I just want Barney and Robin to have the wedding already!

One thing I do find strange is how Lily never asked the mother where she's going, and how Lily managed to get to the wedding when she did, yet seems like the mother is nowhere to be found(even though they were obviously on the same train)

Really enjoyed the premiere although I got kind of bored of the Marshall/angry woman storyline. Hopefully that doesn't last much longer.
