Not including the first season(since everyone tunes in to watch first season to see how a show will be like), last nights episode was around the top 10 in most watched HIMYM episodes ever.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
Terrific episode. One of the best of the series IMO.
Some commenters on AV Club think Marshall and Lily might be headed for a divorce, though some noted this would be at odds with the "Aunt Lily and Uncle Marshall" lines of the past.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
Episodes like this are the reason HIMYM is one of my favorite shows on tv. The series has gotten to the point where meeting the mother is the only plot line i care about. It's too bad they didn't introduce her 3 seasons ago when the show started getting stale and had a couple seasons of them getting to know each other.Comment

Does anyone think that maybe Ted is the one who dies instead of the mother? The kids are watching a video that he recorded before he died telling the story.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
From the very first episode they did.
I've been thinking that maybe the kids were fake(like in the episode where Robin talks to her "kids" that were just her imagination) but once they actually showed the kids as babies and stuff, that couldn't be the case.
Ted can't be dead cause kids responded to him.
Kids can't be dead cause they've interacted with Ted
Mother can't be dead cause the kids were annoyed at having to hear a story about their mother(something that I'd really doubt would be the case if she were dead)
Isn't Barney the only one they haven't shown in the "future" yet? They've shown Marshall-Lily together(so they can't be divorced) years into the future not just hanging out with Ted at their college reunion(which took place after Ted got married),but also when both of them were like in their 60s.
They've also shown the kids doing a drawing of them with "Aunt Robin", but there is no Barney in that picture...so sounds abit strange that if they'd do a picture like that,it'd only be with Robin and not Barney(since you'd assume if they visited Teds kids, both would go together?)Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
I say it's a possibility because Ted's voice changing from his to Bob Saget's has never really been acknowledged in the show (and maybe it never will be). Bob Saget even tweeted a question about it to Josh Radnor and he replied "Keep watching....".
What if Ted gets throat cancer and this is why he's telling this story, right down to the last detail?
I have to say though I feel like a pretty damn morbid person for coming up with all these death theories and thinking this is the way the show will end lol. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility because this show has never been afraid to have those kinds of moments but I also don't think it's likely, especially with the mother having already lost Max. I don't think they'd be that depressing and have the mother or Ted pass away on top of that.

Also, remember that Robin still ends up traveling the world so maybe they do get divorced down the road.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
^About the death stuff...only reason people really guessing at it is cause one of the people in the show said that's how he'd end it. And they did say stuff that'd hint towards something bad happening.
That's actually a pretty good point. Off the top of my head the only time I can remember Barney being shown or even acknowledged in the future is 2015 during Trilogy Time after Penny is born.
Also, remember that Robin still ends up traveling the world so maybe they do get divorced down the road.
So it has to have something to do with Robin-Barney.Comment

Here's my crazy ending ... Ted likes to think about the future after just meeting someone. So Ted meets her on the train, yellow umbrella, etc. Train crashes, Ted thinks about the future and how they would live their lives together. Everything is centered around the Farhampton Inn. Everything we have seen is all in Ted's head in the moments before his death. Series ends with him dying in the train crash holding her hand.Comment

Except it'd start the second Ted saw Robin from across the bar, and he just imagines what'd happen if he did meet her. So the entire 9 years of the story is all just Ted thinking about life had he talked to Robin.
Obviously not a good ending and one that'd make so many people mad/disappointed, but that's why I have so many other random theories to think about lolComment

And no way it happens. They've already shot the finale with the kids.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)
lol, what if it just ends regularly.
Like he meets the mother, they might even show a shot or two of their wedding, and it's just like "And kids...that's how I met your mother". And the show just ends there.Comment
