Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
I think its time that they make 2 threads on here. 1 That contains book stuff, and 1 only dedicated to the HBO series. I want to talk about the TV series, but I fear every time I come in here there may be a spoiler.
You guys have done a good job of using the spoiler tags, but it wouldn't be necessary if there was a separate thread.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
Some book spoilers included...
SpoilerBolton's guy has no idea that Bran is alive, correct? I can't remember at this point, did Theon reveal to Roose/Ramsay that he burned the farm kids and not the young Starks? Either way, even if the Boltons know that Bran is alive they have no idea where he is and certainly wouldn't expect to find him north of the Wall. I was under the impression that the new recruit was sent up there to kill Jon Snow and eliminate the last of Ned Stark's blood.
As for Cold Hands, I thought for sure he was coming when they showed Ghost in his cage and the puddle freezing over. I thought Cold Hands would save the day but now that doesn't seem likely. Jon is on his way to Craster's and Bran just happens to be there, seems more likely that Jon will save Bran but I have no idea what they'd do once they're reunited.
Also, now that Jon Snow is leaving the Wall to head north again I'm guessing he's not going to be around for the Battle of Castle Black unless they're pushing that battle back significantly.

Thanks for clarifying. I was definitely half-asleep during the episode so it makes sense I missed that part."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Last episode, when Theon was shaving Ramsey he told Roose that the Stark boys were alive. He sent Ramsey to Moat Cailin to drive out the iron born and he sent the guy who cut off Jamiee's hand (the "recruit" who volunteers to go north of the wall with Jon Snow.) north to find the Stark boys.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Yes, spoilers are fine as long they people tag what the spoiler is about. ALL THE TIME.
Anyhow, the recruit is Lock/Locke. And yes, I'm pretty sure he will betray Jon at some point.
1. Tommen. You lucky bastard. I honestly thought that they might actually go there because of what Olenna told Margaery (and how uncomfortable that might have been!) but Ser Pounce, the *****(cat) that he is, cockblocked any awkwardness.
2. Oooofff! Those feels with Jaime and Brienne and keeping oaths. I'm quite excited about the BrienniPod/Podrienne partnership. And thank gawd Pod the god is still on the show!
3. I feel like Sansa left one nightmare and entered another one. She must not have gotten the memo about not trusting dudes named Littlefinger.
4. Might we actually get a Stark reunion with Jon and Bran?!?!?! Then Summer & Ghost can howl about their fallen brethren?!?!? I'm going to shatter these thoughts in the next few days because happiness doesn't exist in Westeros.
5. HOW DARE THEY HODOR HODOR!!!!
6. If that's what winter is.....I'm coming. WITH A HUGE (NOT A SPOILER)Spoiler
Kill them so that the North don't have a Stark to rally towards and for the Boltons to effectively take over. Because the Starks have always ruled the North.Last edited by Leon; 04-28-2014, 04:10 PM.Comment

On Pods/Brienne:
SpoilerI like how they cut out some of the excess of how Brienne/Pods got together in the book. They also moved the process just like they moved up the Jaime story. I'm interested to see where they take this, if anywhere at all this season.
I didn't know that they recast Tommen. I thought he just got older.
SpoilerTommen was 9 in the book when he became King. Show Tommen is certainly a teenager. This should lead to a different and less awkward (but still awkward) relationship between Margaery and Tommen. I wonder if Margaery will give Tommen Boots and Lady Whiskers?
I enjoy the divergences between the show and the book. I have no idea how the whole thing at Craster's is going to turn out, which makes it exciting.Comment

Spoiler
They didn't really have a choice lol. That was a one of the many difficult parts to get through in AFFC. It didn't need to be that drawn out in the book and the writers did us a favor with that one quick scene getting to the point.

Not sure if it was mentioned already butSpoilerThe White Walker who turned the baby into one is the "Night's King". Apparently HBO put his name on the synopsis of the episode and quickly took it off and changed it to white walker. There's a nice bit of information about him on the ASOIAF wikipedia page.1905 1921 1922 1933 1954 2010 2012
