And Megan Boone gave it away in an interview on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

I think they might have been a little too heavy handed in the information from the episode, but then maybe that's the point and it's a bunch of red herrings.

The scar burns on Red's back and Boone's lighthearted admission to Jimmy Fallon indicate the odds are in favor that Red is the daddy. Is that one of the red herrings you're talking about or am I somewhat dense for stating the obvious?

Yeah, I know that Red denied fatherhood earlier in the season.

That's one of them. It's just, if everything they presented in the hamfisted foreshadowing-y way they put things in the episode, then the show is going to get really boring really fast. As it stands, if everything they put into the finale is what it was presented to be at face value, there's very little left to learn.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that Red has been relying on semantics to explain the difference between person who "died" in the fire and now...

I also thought it interesting that when the SWAT guys went to the site of the confrontation, the spot were Tom's body was last, was vacant...

We'll see how they pick all this up next season, but it almost felt like they could have wrapped this up mini series style after last night...

Really enjoyed all of it so far...

              Re: The Blacklist

I have enjoyed this show but the plot development over the last few episodes have been anticlimactic to me.

For Instance, does Tom really tell her who her father is and Keane knows it is Red and she is keeping it close to the vest, or were Tom's last words to her really "your father is still alive". At this point, I don't really care, and the point of a big reveal has come and passed.

The Berlin character being our big bad for season 2 does nothing for me. My wife has lost interest in this show about 3 episodes ago, and after the finale I have begun to loose interest too.

                Re: The Blacklist

It kinda of felt like a potential ending if they didn't get picked up. Tom mentioned that Red wasn't who she thought he was in the last few episodes. I doubt the only thing Tom would say is your father is still alive, so she is probably hiding something.

The task force was terrible in this episode, like The Following Season 1 bad. How do you not clarify which hand was cut off, which criminal, etc.

Ok so... Red IS her father but he's not the same person he was prior to the fire, so he referred to it as her "father's death" because he's different now? Am I understanding right or way off (been known to happen)?

That is what they are making us think right now, don't know if it is true or not.

Not a great season finale, but not that bad. Harold's recovery and the great chemistry between Red and Lizzy helped a lot.

Tom went out with a whimper, which was a little surprising. I'm still trying to understand his justification for calling himself a "good guy".

They could work on a few things, like the FBI's incompetence (the writers are well aware of this complaint) and the threat of Berlin, but I am very much on board and excited for season 2.

                        Re: The Blacklist

I'm still not convinced, yet, that Red is Liz's father. Red could have been a friend that helped Liz out of the fire.

I'm hoping Tom's character is back based on the no body against the wall. I thought Ryan Eggold played a great character. Is he a good guy, bad guy?

I wasn't too bothered with the incompetence of the FBI stuff because partially, that was what Red was for. He had all the information on these folks and gave clues throughout the show to Lizzie on how to catch them and Red found them before the FBI sometimes.

A lot of good minor background stories in season 2 coming up.

                        Lizz/Ressler realationship, Lizz/Tom relationship.

How long will it take to catch Berlin? The pocket watch picture and picture #79 from the Stewmaker are the same girl.

I'm excited by season 2, they didn't let the whole cat of the bag in the season finale.

Also, another great song by Eddie Vedder at the end of the show.

When they talk about the guy bringing the girl to Sam were they saying "A man brought Sam a girl to raise" or "A man brought his daughter to Sam to raise"?

I think it was "a girl", so doesn't mean that guy was the father. Maybe Red was that guy who saw the father die in the fire and brought Lizzie to Sam?

I think Tom is still alive. We know the body disappeared, but I also remember someone posting something in this thread saying the producers have told the actor who plays Tom that he has a long-term job. Sorry for the long run on sentence.

The actor that plays Tom is in that car commercial they've shown for the past few weeks that has a product tie-in with the series, so yeah:

                                He'll be back...
