Without spoilers, would you say the movie had an ending or is it kind of open ended for another movie?

It definately is open ended for another movie. Even before this film came out it was announced that a 3rd film was in the works.

It's not exactly a cliffhanger either. They did both. Wrapped up the story and left enough to continue making movies.

Yeah they did a great job making it feel like an ending but left it open for the next chapter. Look's like it's cleaning up at the box office. Expected to make over $70m domestically that's around $20m more than the previous film. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit...news/?a=103516

Saw it last night. It was good, really good actually, but I can't help thinking it was missing something.

I didn't feel like it was the "dawn" of the Apes taking over. More like the apes and humans co-existing. Have to wonder if Koba is really dead and if the next movie will feature an ape vs. ape war. I was also wondering if the Army was really coming. I wouldn't have been disappointed to see them show up and the Apes just annihilate them.

You have to remember that it's only 10 years into the future so you're still dealing with the first generation of smart apes and the same generation of humans. Completely rising to the top of the food chain is going to take a while, but you can see the steps taking place. The apes were teaching their youth, developing their own social order/caste system, and, at the highest level, using spoken language. I'm happy that they're taking a slow burn approach.

I saw the movie this past Sunday with some friends and thought it was very well made. The first one I feel was slightly butt this one had definitely more action. It was great seeing the Apes have true social system. You can definitely see the rise of the apes and the understanding that they could only get smarter

Saw it last Sunday in 3D. Really enjoyed it, one of my top 3 movies of the summer. It was really well done and on par with if not better than the prequel.
