Billy Jack and the Charles Bronson films were the standard bearers for the "B Movie / Drive In / Vigilante Justice" thing in the 70's that I'm sure current directors (Tarantino and Rodriguez) were inspired by...

I saw the re-release in 1973, and then the re-release of the 1967 film "Born Losers" (first Billy Jack Film) in 1974. Both films are worth a watch.
