Lose lose for TWC subs in Durham. TWC is awful down there Comcast likely will be worse. Problem is there are no other options.

You've had problems with your service in Durham? Any issues I've ever had have been resolved quickly and without much hassle. I wish my bill was a little less expensive, but that's another story altogether. I agree though, options are definitely limited here.

I plan on moving over to Direct TV and doing TWC/Comcast for internet. My FIOS up in NJ is superior though.

I'm glad I reupped my Uverse promotional rates another year before this, not sure I could threaten to switch to Comcast with a straight face.

As far as Comcast goes, they do good pushing technology, but they treat customers like ****.

The only cable/internet company I have used that knew how to treat customers is Optimum but they don't service my soon to be home area. Verizon is just silly. Great product but wacko CS. I have a Verizon store virtually down the block. You can change services get new equipment a lot of things but in order to return a box without paying a fee you have to take the set top box or router to a UPS store. Forget trying to do anything over the phone.

COMCAST has been great to us. Can't complain at all.

This is how I feel too, know too many people who switched to fios and hated it.

Time Warner bought out the local cable company a few years ago, since the official name change last year Time Warner's service both cable and internet has been solid. The couple of times I've had to deal with customer service was less then pleasant. I imagine the same from Comcast if this goes through. I just hope Google Fiber finds it's was to my town soon.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Government, businesses, and public groups are pushing for it, just have to hope Google listens.

Re: Comcast to Purchase TWC for $45 Billion

Comcast TV sucks. Like MS DOS sucks. Its just terrible. I'm getting ready to jump ship to DirecTV and Verizon DSL.

I've never had major problems with their customer service, but I always do the online chat. I did have some problems with my billing when we moved, but they straightened that out when I brought up. Bad thing was they were billing for dual services for a week even though I was only living in one spot. I know that would fly under the radar for a lot of people so just watch out when they try to slip one through.

I do like the internet service, but only because I've never had to think much less worry about it. I would think internet service is pretty interchangeable though if you can get similar speeds of internet.

I've been reading through this thread, and to be honest I'm a bit worried here.

We currently have TW and obviously have no data caps or anything of the sort, but I've seen in this thread that Comcast has data caps...that would really suck of that's true...hopefully this won't pan out,or they drop the data caps.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I have comcast with no data caps. Seems to be only in certain areas that they cap.

If this is true, that would be great news. So I guess a quick Google search might be in order to see what areas they have this data cap.

I think people are going overboard with datacaps. My internet here, which is none of the above, has a datacap. It's 350 GB. You know the most I've ever used in a month? 150. And that was with downloading a ton of software for work (SAS alone was like 30 gigs, rest was probably another 25 combined), Netflix, MLB.TV, gaming, and all my usual internet use. I'm pretty sure Comcast has reasonable caps of at least 150 GB. You all must be downloading torrents 24/7 or you really overestimate just how much data you actually.
