    Sirius satellite radio

So I bought my car and it came with a one year free trial of Sirius.

Before I decide if I want it or not (expires in October), I notice I often get an "acquiring signal please wait" message, meanwhile the radio goes silent.

My question: will this stop if I buy the subscription? Cause it's irritating as heck.

    Thanks!

My wife's car does that but it's usually caused by some obstruction. Bridges, overpasses, etc.

Hmmm, no. I'm usually on an open road. Ok thanks, I won't be subscribing then.

I never have that problem unless I'm driving through a tunnel or sitting in traffic under an overpass.

Don't know how to answer your question, but a piece of advice for you: DO NOT pay full price. My mom has had her car for over 2 years now, and has had Sirius the whole time, paying half price for it.

When they try to get you to renew, act like you don't want it. You really like it, but you just can't quite justify spending the money on it.

They should offer you 6 months at half price to give you more time to decide if you want it. If they don't offer it to you, ask for it.

Sounds like there might be something wrong with your antenna/cable/tuner, it shouldn't be doing that. Assuming this is a new car, all that should presumably still be under warranty.

Agreed, my antenna eventually did break but that was only after 5 years of heavy use.

It's dead spots in your area.
I have the same issue in specific parts of my town and during my commute.

That could be it. Seems to be around the same general area when it does this. Annoying when a great tune is on, the awesome guitar solo is about to hit, then..........silence.

Ah well, at least I finally tried it.

                      LOL! I hear you.
It almost always seems to happen when a great song comes on, or something interesting is being talked about on a sports show.
Then you get a red light and can't move to regain the signal! ARGH!

I only get that while at the gas station. If it's always happened, or always happens in the same spots, it's dead zones like Money says. If it's spotty, I'd say get your car checked out. If it just stated happening suddenly, definitely have your car checked out. Should be under warranty.
