    Just got a new TV

I've been playing on a 32 inch Panasonic 720p/1080i tv 60hz all pretty standard but wanted a new tv to get the full effect when the show comes out and for the ps4. 1080p etc. Just not sure if I got the right one. I got a Samsung 40 inch 6030 series tv. I can link the best buy thing if you want. It is 1080p, 120 hz(240cmr), has 3d enabled. I just don't know if I need the extra hertage. It has automotion which ive already turned off because it's more annoying than anything with the soap opera effect. Nothing uses 120 hz anyways. This tv actually is 120 hz to my knowledge and bumps up to 240 with the clear motion rate. Just seems like anything over 60 hz is pointless. Also not sure I see myself using the 3d. It's also a bit big for my liking. I'm not rolling in money here and 32 was really fine although 40 definitely gives a more full experience.

They have the same tv 39 inch 5000 series from Samsung which is $369 vs $499. It's basically 1080p 60 hz with no 3d. Still has the clear motion thing that bumps it up to 120 hz. I'm thinking of returning this and exchanging it. Any opinions?

My last tv lasted all through last gen and was fine and I want this tv to do the same so I figured i'd spend the extra. I just don't know if 120 hz and 3d is worth it. I've heard 120 hz causes more problems with games than anything and I've already seen the stutter even when in game mode. Seems like anything over 60 hz is useless. So is 3d for that matter. $140 difference. MY last tv is still nice as well. I've hooked them up side by side and there is a noticeable difference but a 32 inch Panasonic at 720p vs 1080 is still nice.

The TV is really nice. It's more a matter of lugging it back to the store and swapping it. I'd be getting the same tv minus a few features which seem to cause more problems than they are worth.

Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Just go with the cheaper option if you don't think 120Hz is anything that you will notice. Both TVs have good reviews and losing 1 inch probably won't be a big deal since you are upgrading from a 32".

I swapped for the cheaper one and have to say it was worth it. 120hz and 3d seemed like nothing more to be things to play around with than actual features that do anything worthwhile. Probably cause more problems than they are worth. Got a nice tv for $369 and can't say I'm not pleased.

40 inches also was a bit b ig and had to sit away from it. You'd think an inch wouldnt maek a difference but 39 seems perfect for me. I'm not trying to impress anyone with my TV. This is very nice and functional.
