I still don't buy him, Eisenberg or Gadot in their respective roles. But Keaton and Ledger are exactly why I'll try not to be too harsh in my criticisms until I see how they do.

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
I think Affleck has grown as an actor and someone who can have a good influence behind the scenes thanks to his directorial work. This isn't the same Affleck that played Daredevil. He now has more gravitas as an actor and can carry a film. I think he does surprisingly well as Batman.
The Eisenberg casting as Luthor is a bit iffy but I do like that they went outside the box a little.
Gadot is simply the worst out of the "surprise" casting but who knows, she might surprise?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Yeah, Hollywood makes stupid decisions. I don't think intentionally casting someone they think will be bad just to deflect attention away from someone they also cast in a franchise they want to be big is one of them.
"Hey Zack, let's cast this bad actress so that people won't hate on Affleck as Batman!" "Good idea, Mr. Warner Bros.!"
Come on now.

Yeah, I have my doubts about Eisenberg playing a convincing Luther, but I'll keep an open mind. Still would have loved to see Bryan Cranston in the role.I think Affleck has grown as an actor and someone who can have a good influence behind the scenes thanks to his directorial work. Since theyre not doing an origin film (thank god) I think Affleck will be fine. Wouldve been hard to pull off the origin "feel" with a forty something year old Batman lolComment

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
So is this Batman fighting Superman? That wouldn't end well.
Not even sure how Batman would coexist with Superman. Batman is a mortal with a belt. Just give Superman the belt and you don't need Batman.

(I know don't feed the trolls but...)
WHUT?
Could you at least ELABORATE on your point instead of needlessly hating on it and declaring it a failure. If anything, superhero/comic book movies are now a genre of film. I don't see it ending any time soon.
It's going to be really difficult however, if they go with the "god batman" characterization of Batman ALWAYS being prepared and having a contingency for everything than it might come off reasonably well. The characterization of Batman during Grant Morrison's run on JLA in the '90s was very much in this vein and it's one of the more popular iterations of the character in the comics. So is this Batman fighting Superman? That wouldn't end well.

That was him elaborating. If you didn't notice, he posted even less two days ago and, I guess since no one replied, decided to post again.
bradtxmale, you are dangerously teetering on trolling here. Just letting you know now. An answer to SPTO's question would help your cause. Otherwise, bow out before you have bigger problems.Comment

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
Bruce Wayne pictures:
Spoiler
Also, there's some info on where Batman (and a little bit on Wonder Woman) is career-wise in the movie.
SpoilerMy sources indicate that when BvS opens Batman has existed for close to thirty years, which would place Wayne in his 50s (which is why I expected more grey in Affleck's hair). In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he's had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume.
I've heard more, but I'm wary of crossing the line into spoilers. I do quite like this little tidbit, though, because it gives us a sense of a very different Batman than we've ever seen in the movies. This sets Affleck's version apart from Bale and the others easily - he's a quieter operator, not involved in blockbuster battles but in all sorts of badass vigilantism.
By the way, my sources tell me that Wonder Woman has also been in operation for some time before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice* begins, and her activities have been just as secretive as Batman's. Her activities were badass as well... but in a very different, and unexpected, way.

Miller meets Nolan in tone.
I can buy that and seeing a Batman of this type would be very different but fun.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
