I've already said the R version is the next one I'll watch and passed on a chance to see the current one again this weekend. If it's in theaters, I'm in.

Lol, that's straight up cheating. Can't release a completely different cut and say it goes towards the original release box office totals. Just release it on blu-ray and be done with it.

I'd do it too. I had previously asked why movies don't release multiple cuts simultaneously in theaters as is. Seems like an okay ploy.

I think because of the reason in the post above you. You'd have this mix bag of reviews. While now your getting general bad reviews.

To be honest Flash is the 1 solo movie I'm not really looking forward to, however that's my bias to the TV show. Which I think is one of the best comic book show/movie representations ever. Although I'm sure a big budget Flash will be visually stunning.

True, bar has been set very high. Disappointing that both Marvel and DC have disconnected their TV properties from movie continuity.

But what can you expect? It would be impossible to get the ongoing quality in a TV series as in a movie. SHIELD sometimes comes close within different scenes or occasionally within an entire episode, but you can't expect it throughout the season.

Wait, how has Marvel disconnected their TV properties from the movie continuity? Literally every one of their TV shows thus far is based within the world started in Iron Man 1. Agents of SHIELD was completely changed by the events of Winter Soldier and even continued that story with Nick Fury's appearance there. Daredevil and the state of the city is very much affected by the events of the first Avengers movie.

They're going to keep Coulson dead in the movies. None of the Netflix properties are ever supposed to be integrated or appear in Infinity War, and DC removed restrictions on characters used in TV series with a couple exceptions I think.

Shield did it, and did it well IMO in the past. Even had references to the secret helicarrier, but apparently they're moving away from that kind of stuff because it's difficult to do logistically and the economics of TV/movie production/contacts are barriers for the rest.

^ I've also read interviews that allude to the fact that by the very nature of shows being episodic, they tend to advance much further than a film can in 120 minutes. It makes sense not to try and overdo it with the movie tie-ins.

I doubt Coulson will be referenced as "dead" in the movies, if mentioned at all. As far as appearances....they'll just do what makes sense moving forward. Your other points make sense, but now you're just arguing with yourself :P

Coulson has been referenced as dead in the movies though. No one outside of Coulson, his team, Hill, and Fury know he's alive. And I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've never seen it said anywhere that the Netflix properties aren't ever supposed to appear in the films.

There's still references to what's gone on in the movies in the shows when it's made sense. Season one of Daredevil has the Avengers battle in New York referenced. Jessica Jones referenced that battle numerous times and even dealt with the fallout of civilians trust and anger towards super powered people. I would bet that some TV characters will either eventually end up with cameos in one of the Infinity War movies or at the very least have their world's affected again by the outcome of those films.

I hope for all of this too, absolutely. But the interaction is one way. A lot of this discussion stemmed from two things, will Coulson show up again (he'd be great in Civil War, if he was an ace up Fury's sleeve to snap the heroes out of the fighting) and when the Inhumans movie was rumored to be cancelled and instead it was said that the movie may have nothing to do with the Shield show that has already introduced them - which is hard to do since they did the terrigen bomb plot. Could still have it both ways there if the focus was on the royal family? Still think it's hard to ignore years of new Inhumans on the show, if it's still going.

So disconnected is too harsh of a word, the TV shows borrow what's convenient, but ultimately aren't influencing movies and characters for the most part aren't expected to cross over (and very rarely have this far, just Coulson and Sif?)

More on topic, this is much more the case for the DC TV shows, as they're much more mature and their movie counterparts have been recast.
