    Sound delay.

Recently I've noticed that there is a very slight delay when playing audio through my surround sound speakers when playing Blu-Ray movies through my Playstation 4. I have the surround sound connected to the PS4 via fiber optic cable and I run the video through an HDMI cable. When I switch my sound to come out through the TV rather than the surround sound the delay does not exist. Hence the problem has to be the surround sound and fiber optic cable, as far as I can tell. I do not remember this being an issue on the Playstation 3 but I could be mistaken. Has anyone had any issues/experience with this? It pretty frustrating to have a great surround sound setup and have to use the relatively cheap speakers through the TV. Any help is greatly appreciated as always.

    Re: Sound delay.

Is the audio playing slightly before the video or vice versa? Does the PS4 HDMI run directly to the TV or also through the receiver? Most receivers had an audio delay somewhere in the menu. Try running the HDMI cable through the receiver as well if you aren't already.

I'm not sure if you are removing the HDMI cable or not and plugging it directly into the TV.

First I would remove the Optical cable unless you have an old receiver that can't do audio through the HDMI. The HDMI cable from the PS4 will send both video & audio and should be in sync.

If that doesn't work, then you will have to delay the audio or video in the receiver depending if it is delayed or early like was mentioned above.
