    R.I.P. Bobby Womack

Mr. Womack passed away today at age 70. I was a fan of his work. Across 110th Street is an all-timer for me.

Soul great who worked with musicians from Sam Cooke to Damon Albarn during a career spanning nearly six decades

This was my dad's and uncles favorite song that they use to sing and play every time we BBQ'ed.

My dad and his brothers had a friend who couldn't keep a woman to save his life, so they always played this song and song it in front of him to tease him. Now I automatically associate Crown Royal & single dudes with Bobby Womack and this song.

Also dug his contribution to the Gorillaz later in his career.
