Now that we are a few episodes in. What are your thoughts on the show? Personally I'm enjoying it and I keep coming back because I expect something big to happen soon.

I won't lie, I laughed my *** off when the rocker's dick fell off in the toilet

Overall I've been pleasantly surprised, but still annoyed by the family stuff

Still think its pretty bad. The dialogue is terrible, the story is still one cliche after another, and the characters are all paper thin.

Fleshing out Goodfellow with the wife/kid BS is not working as I'm now skipping those parts completely. they're just so boring and dragging the story down even further.

Kevin Durand's character(rat catcher) has me interested though. I like that guy in everything he's in.

Love it so far. If you've read the books, you'd know that the Goodweather family issues are pivotal to the story.

Which is not a good thing in any way shape of form because I'm never going to care about his family.

I absolutely love this show so far, and I don't mind the side stories, including the family/divorce/custody drama.

Ehh. It started out good IMO but has turned into B movie territory. Takes itself way too seriously.

                      Same here. Perfect summer fare.

Enjoying the hell out of this, which is surprising considering I'm usually critical of shows or movies that are based on books. It helps that Del Toro and Hogan wrote the novels with a movie or TV show in mind.

Still not loving it but stuff is finally starting to go down which makes it much easier to ignore the other flaws. This episode was by far the best paced yet.

                          Re: The Strain (FX)

The "survivor" with the wife and kids is dreadful to watch. Just bad acting. Some of the clichés they are using are just awful as well.

Overall I like the show and will keep watching. But with some of these scenes I'm just completely taken out of the story. Very unfortunate because the story has been entertaining so far.
