Kelsey Grammer-Martin Lawrence On FX (Partners)

Interesting schedule for the show. Two back to back episodes every Monday for five weeks to finish the 10 episode season. If it works they'll order 90 more, similar to Sheen's deal.

I'll be watching. I'll watch damn near anything with Kelsey Grammer involved.

Hopefully it's hilarious and hopefully it has real lasting power.

Martin hasn't been funny to me since "Martin" ended back in the 90s but I'll give this a look.

I'm with wwharton in that I have a bad feeling about this as well.

            Damn geo lock!

What's the basic gist of this show?

I hope it works out as Kelsey Grammer is great and while Martin Lawrence hasn't been funny to me since Blue Streak, he does have the talent in him to put on a great performance.

The series follows Grammer and Lawrence as two Chicago lawyers from very different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court as they each face a personal crisis.
Then I'm guessing they become partners.

Hopefully it's not as cliched as Grammer is the privileged white guy and Martin is the product of the projects.

When I saw the general "Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer is a show called Partners", for some reason I immediately thought it'd be funny if they were gay. Then I saw this promo:

              <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/R0aeCMtdH0M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I mean, that's not what it was about, but that thought and that promo, I still laugh when I think about it.

Yeah, but Grammer is humbled a bit by being fired from his firm and Lawrence plays a "nice and ethical" lawyer which goes slightly against the "product of the projects" stereotype (not my feelings). It's a must watch for me because I'm a huge Kelsey Grammer fan and the pairing with Martin Lawrence is out of left field.

When does this start? I'm a huge Frasier and Martin fan, so I'd imagine that this would be up my alley. Hopefully it's pretty good.

                      Did you guys watch?

Pilot was pretty funny, second episode less so. Felt the second episode was much more forced. Kelsey Grammer is much more natural in the show than Martin Lawrence is.

Yeah, but still decent chemistry between the two. The Kelsey's daughter and Martin's mom bonding seemed a bit forced, at least at this point. So far this one falls well short of Grammar's other shows like Cheers, Frasier, Boss, and even the short lived "Back To You" with Patricia Heaton (which was pretty good). I'm a little disappointed. I'm not sure FX will give this one another 90 episodes.

I loved Back To You. So unappreciated. That show was hilarious.

Hopefully this picks up, because I'm desperate for a multicamera sitcom. Not a fan of the recent trend in sitcoms at all.
