Hopefully this picks up, because I'm desperate for a multicamera sitcom. Not a fan of the recent trend in sitcoms at all.
I'm with you and as mentioned ad nauseam I'm a Huge Grammer fan. I do want this to get another 90.

Still can't understand how the Grammer-Heaton combo failed with their fan base.

If only people knew that the show had Ty Burrell aka Phil Dunphy.

I actually met Ty Burrell once at a bar and told him how I was a big fan and even loved Back to You a lot. He was blown away that I commented on it. Seemed to really appreciate that I knew of him before Modern Family.

I watched the first two episodes tonight. It's........not bad. This feels like a sitcom that will need about 10-15 episodes to really hit its stride. I'm also sick of the filmed sitcom trend so I really want this to work. I found it interesting that Robert L. Boyett is involved in this show as he was one of the driving forces of TGIF back in the day and it's nice to see Telma Hopkins on the screen again. I also noted the directorial credit on the 2nd episode was Joe Ragalbutto who was Frank on Murphy Brown.

Anywho, I thought the chemistry between Grammer and Lawrence was pretty good in the first episode and slipped a little in the 2nd though I do like the fact that the series has flipped the stereotypical idea of the black guy being the driving force for the comedy with his antics. Here, it's all driven by the ego and pomposity of Grammer's character. The know it all assistant has potential but at the same time she could get REALLY annoying really fast. Those kind of characters walk a tightrope IMO.

All in all, I think this show has potential but needs time to grow.

Not to mention Josh Gad and Fred Willard. Show had a great cast.
