Goosebumps Movie Starring Jack Black as R.L. Stine

Movie is due out August 7, 2015.

    Interview with Jack Black.

As a HUGE fan of those books as a kid, I am excited to see this next year. I still have all of my Goosebumps books from my childhood and have saved them for my son to read when he is a little older.

I hope Welcome to Dead House and Say Cheese & Die are at the helm of the main storylines. Night of the Living Dummy just doesn't work for me in terms of actual horror (though Slappy was drop-dead hilarious in the filmed episodes), but because this should appeal to kids as well I'm hoping they include that bit.

Nice. Every reading assignment in elementary to middle school ended up being off Goosebumps .

Wonder how they'll do a movie version of it. One long movie of a goosebumps episode, multiple goosebumps stories in a movie, stories connect, or something else?

They need to have some of the classic things from goosebumps in the movie though, like Slappy. And ESPECIALLY the goosebumps theme:

Was never into Goosebumps in school. By the time they came around I was already reading Stines Fear Street books.

Still mildly interested in this though.

              Slappy is confirmed

According to this goosebumps wiki he'll be the main antagonists.

Slappy the Dummy is the mascot of the Goosebumps franchise and the main villain of the Night of the Living Dummy saga. He is a living ventriloquist dummy that comes to life when the words "Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano" are read aloud; which translates to "You and I are one now," and they can be found on a sheet of paper in Slappy's dress jacket pocket. After coming to life, Slappy will try to make the person who brought him back to life serve him as a slave. Since his debut in 1993...

Antagonist.....he's no villain, those kids had it coming.

But I liked the other Slappy look better, guess they needed to make a more "modern" looking one. TV Show slappy was creepy:

That dummy is still creepy as hell to me.

I loved those books as a kid.

Loved it as a kid but not at all interested in a movie.

I loved the books, didn't like the show as much, but I had trouble sleeping for weeks after seeing that creepy dummy.

Well, this never needed to be some sort of creepy R-rated monster-fest or anything like that. It just needs to be good. This very well may be, I'm not sure. I'll see it on its deserved time, whenever I find out that happens to be.

I was not a big goosebumps fan growing up because they scared me to much lol. I have seen some of them since then and they are pretty cheesy and not really scary. I would like this to look a little less cheesy then it looks though and Jack black I just cant take it not overly cheesy with him.
