Couldn't stand it. The content was fine, the concept was creative but I just hated the execution. I felt like shooting my brains out after a couple minutes. Ugh.

I agree. I told my wife the same. Wasn't sure if it was just going to be the intro or not, but thought the concept was creative and well executed. Like it or hate it, I give them props for just attempting and executing a unique idea. I don't think it is something should do again as it would not be nearly as special, but I thought the idea was unique and they pulled it off well.

I went to the imdb boards to see what others were saying and there seems to be no middle ground. People either loved it or hated it. Most that hated it just thought it was a 30 minute ad for Apple.

I made that same comment as well to my wife, but I didn't take it as a negative or something that would ruin the episode for me. Could have been Android or Windows or a mixed bag of whatever and it would not have changed my opinion of the episode. A lot of families are brand-centric these days.

Saw a pretty cool behind the scenes video that showed how they shot it earlier this morning that was pretty interesting. Can't seem to find it now.

I just feel it was gimmicky. I don't like when shows try to do these sorts of things because it signals some sort of desperation. Like jumping the shark, or adding a new member of the family out of nowhere, or the HIMYM baby rhymes episode, or Drew Carey Show's musical/live episodes.

I thought it was great. Just watching how Claire's screen went, you knew it was her without her voice. So organized and frantic lol.

I wasn't blown away by it either, but how desperate is a show that has won a record five consecutive Emmys, with consistently high ratings, on a network that is on the rise?

That's the thing. They have no reason to go all gimmicky like this. Maybe it was just creativity for the sake of creativity.

That's what I'm thinking...still wasn't bad.

But of course many will like this type of episode.

I didn't think it was gimmicky. Claire is so controlling and neurotic I could see her being this way when away on a business trip. I thought it was a fun episode.
