The Official "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I" Movie Topic Thread

I plan to see this on Saturday with my sister's family. I am so excited. I love "The Hunger Games". I have created a special logo of this movie using Microsoft Paint. Let me know what you guys think of it. I think she's going to have to buy the tickets ahead of time. I think our showing is going to be sold out.

Well, due to bad weather, I will be going tonight instead. My sister says that she will buy the tickets ahead of time. I will be back later tonight with a full review of this movie. We're catching the 9:15 pm showing. I guess we won't be done until about 11:15 pm. Also, I just now read an article from The Wall Street Journal that says this movie is said to be pulling an estimated "$150 million or more this weekend". I find that very easy to believe. My Spoiler Filled Review of This Movie

I wanted to review this movie. I have a warning before you read on further, if you haven't seen this movie, and you don't want to read about spoilers stop reading now. Ok here it goes.

It starts out a little slow. Katniss in the hospital. She has moments where she wakes up upset. There a few funny moments in this movie. The viewers were laughing in some scenes during the movie. I guess the writers want to relieve some tension during this movie. The scenes about the cat was pretty funny. President Snow was bad self in this movie. Lots of people were killed. I won't spoil the ending for you, but let's say that you won't see it coming. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger.

My sister and her husband didn't like it. I did like it. I read somewhere that the producers are saving the really good stuff for the final movie. Makes sense to me. Fans of this series should enjoy the movie. Its not as good as the previous films. Here is my final rating. 3.5 mockingjays out of 5.

Saw it today. A little less than I expected, but not much for them to really go on yet. Part 1 of Deathly Hallows was alright, but part 2 was amazing and one of the best movies of that year. So let's hope the HG crew has the same thing in mind!

The box office numbers are in. Of course, the final box office numbers will come in on Monday. The 1 day total take comes to $55 Million on 11/21. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" 1 day total take was about $70.9 Million. That's quite a drop there. So far, the Box Office comes to a total of $122 Million. That comes to about $1.55 Billion from 3 movies.

I just found out the final box office numbers from this past weekend. The gross box office takes comes to $130 Million here in the USA. Overseas, it made about $159 Million, or so I read on some website. Wikipedia.com has reported that the total box office so far comes to about $285.2 Million.

The box office for the Thanksgiving weekend is in. As expected, the movie did well again this weekend. It pulled in about $82.6 million here in the USA. The total so far comes to $480.1 million. That's almost as good as the 1st one.

I've heard people say it was like a glorified movie trailer. I'll catch it on BR whenever it comes out. I never read the books, so I don't know what to expect.

The box office so far comes to about $507.1 million total. Its been out now for about 15 days.

First of the Harry Potter finale was drawn out and boring, this one wasn't much better. But I guess they're getting everyone's money....

Catching Fire was so good, sad this movie brings the series down. Hope it goes out with a blast. Based on what I remember from the books, it should.

They really should have stretched out The Dark Knight Rises into two films, even if the first part ended up being "stretched out and boring" (though if it would have been everything up until Bruce's capture into the Pit and the second half being Bane's revolution and Bruce's return, I think it would have been great).

For the record, I liked HG1 more, probably because it felt more like a complete film. When I wrote my impressions for Catching Fire, I said that it felt like an incomplete film, and it would probably feel good watching the first one before it and the third one after it. With the third one being in two parts and this first part also probably being largely "incomplete," I don't know how I'll feel about Catching Fire now. More of the same, I guess.

Is Phillip Seymour Hoffman fully in this, or did they have to do some CGI stuff for him as they will Paul Walker for FF7?

Was any of this one filmed in IMAX?
