I'll be kayaking, off roading , bike riding with it. I also have this phantom helicopter I can attach it too if I wanted to do ariel shots but I don't know if I want to put a 400 dollar camera in the sky like that. I was looking at the new GoPro 4 silver, but not sure if I should go the other cheaper versions.

GoPro Cameras
Anyone on here own one? I been avoiding buying one the last two years since I have a pretty nice DSLR camera (D600) but I have an anxiety attack everytime I bring it on a boat or go kayaking. I was hoping to get any experiences you guys had with it, what must have accessories should I get and so on.

I think that if you're a big outdoors person, it's definitely a plus. He's a big snowboarder and loves his motorcycle so I bought him an accessory kit for all different types of mounts to put on his bike or helmet. And yes they do have waterproof cases for it for when you go kayaking. -

As for it dropping from the sky I wouldn't worry too much other than maybe losing it. If you see where it falls it should be fine. And the housing it comes with has a waterproof backdoor that is rated good up to 60m (about 200ft). I got a float attachment for mine when taking it to the ocean and it worked just wonderful.
There are several videos on youtube of them coming loose from Skydivers and being shot with Shotguns and the camera still works, just have to replace the housing most of the times.
Videos of what I was talking about:
