Looks pretty good, maybe not as funny as the first one but i'll definitely be checking this out as I was a HUGE fan of the first film.

I had some doubts about this movie because they lost Mila Kunis from the cast. But damn, this movie looks hilarious.

I have a question. Why is looking to make a donation to a sperm bank to get a girl pregnant, if he already has girlfriend? That part from the trailer makes no sense to me.

Because Ted and Tammy Lynn are trying to have a kid and for obvious reasons they can't. So Wahlberg goes to the sperm bank to donate the sperm for Ted and Tammy Lynn to use.

Oh, I guess I should have been paying closer attention to the trailer, then. Wahlberg's name in the movie is John.

Yea I went and watched the trailer again and that is the only way I knew Ted's gf's name.

No Mila Kunis is not a great thing, but the trailer looks very good.

I wonder if it took something from the original Miracle on 34th Street when the court is asked to determined whether a possible nut job (Kris Kringle) is in fact Santa Claus.

Actually, I think they're borrowing this part of the plot from the Robin Williams movie, Bicentennial Man. In that movie, some of the story did focus on the robot wanting to be known as a real man. Of course, that's after he got his robot parts replaced with human body parts. You guys know that Seth McFarlane can't come up original ideas on his own, right? His made a career off of borrowing ideas for his Family Guy show from The Simpsons for years.

Or ST:TNG when the guy wanted to reverse engineer Data, or one of the million other stories where someone has to justify their identity. Using a trope isn't stealing a story.

Yeah, but this movie, like Miracle on 34th Street, relies on a court case for validation. Kris Kringles maintains he is Santa Claus, thus setting himself up for commitment to an insane asylum. His attorney's (and friend) defense is that he actually is Santa Claus. Ted needs to be human to get married. Both movies' are resolving the main character's dilemma by proving fantastic claims.

                          So did Bicentennial Man.

By bad. I read a quick synopsis, having never saw the movie. I read it too quickly.

Looks hilarious, but I hope those aren't the funniest scenes in the movie. I had such high hopes for Ted that after watching the movie, I came out a bit underwhelmed because most of the funny bits were in the trailer.
