Outside of Hardhome episode, I loathed this season. I feel like the show has taken some very dumb turns over the last two seasons, and I've grown to like it less and less. That's not the book fan in me talking, either. I think as a TV show, it's become very inconsistent in writing and does some dumb things, way dumber than I'd expect from an HBO show.

And as cool as the Hardhome episode was, I'm starting to think it might have been a really stupid idea for them to spend as much budget as they did on a 20 minute sequence that really didn't HAVE to happen. Especially when you see how bad the Dorne setting was this season, it looked like they spent very little time or money on that location. Or the amount of budget it took to close down a street, and then CGI Lena's face on a naked body lol. Don't these actresses/actors know ahead of time that their roles will include nudity at certain points in the story? If you don't want to do it then why take the part?

But yeah, I had to do some huge logic stretches during the Stannis/Wall/Winterfell/Brienne crap. Especially in the final episode, where a huge battle just happened, yet somehow Brienne walks across the battlefield among thousands of people fighting and manages to find exactly who she's looking for. And kill him. I thought that was really stupid.

I also hated, hated, hated, hated, hated Selmy's death. Not just because he's not dead in the books. But because it was a really stupid scene. The Unsullied are pretty worthless soldiers, they've been getting slaughtered by men in iron masks with knives for an entire season while they are supposed to be the finest trained foot soldiers in the world. And then Selmy has to die to them too? Ugh.

And the Jon/Night's Watch stuff was all so amazingly rushed. If you didn't read the books you're probably left wondering why they pulled a mutiny in the span of one or two episodes. Or why they let them through the gates at all, if they didn't want the Wildlings in.

The Dorne stuff was the worst crap this show has ever produced. From the acting, to the poor set pieces, to the awful fight scene, it was bad all around. And they've managed to ruin Jaime's character beyond saving. He lost his hand, not his wits. He's still a very intelligent, charismatic, and political savvy guy, yet the show portrayed him as a bumbling oaf who comes up with some idiot secret mission to go find his daughter. When anyone with a brain would have just...oh I don't know...walked into Dorne as a friend and said "Hey, it's me Jaime Lannister. I'm here to check up on the Princess and possibly bring her home. Let's talk about that." as opposed to sneaking in wearing Spies like Us disguises and murdering soldiers then fighting Xena Warrior Princess extras.

The only bright side I found to be consistently good was Arya, and it has nothing to do with the central story. Well I guess after the finale it kind of did, but I enjoyed it regardless of that tie in. Except for the goofy "Jaqen doesn't exist" ending.

So yeah, majorly disappointed by this season as a TV viewer and book fan both. Thought it was the worst season by a wide margin, and felt half assed.

I hope cercei's death (if she dies) is so horrible and gruesome. It be awesome if she was ate alive by her resurrected children.

If you're familiar with the Maggie the Frog prophecy about Cersei's death, everyone assumes it will be either Jaime or Tyrion that end up killing her. Tyrion is very unlikely, since he is a world away and there's simply no way he'd ever get close enough to her again to strangle her. Even if he did, pretty sure she would kill herself before ever letting Tyrion kill her.

I could see her getting hers from someone who will technically be "little brother", but not her little brother. Such as Arya posing as a little brother to someone, or something. Or, the more popular theory, Jaime kills her, since he's technically her little brother by a split second.

I actually love her character in the books. Her chapters show such a warped view on reality from her, while the companion chapters to her POV always give you actual reality of what a fool she is. Yet she's so committed to being a fool, and thinks she's 10 steps ahead of everyone else's game.

I've been reading the first book this summer. They alluded to the catacombs at winterfell quite a bit. It made me think that the White Walkers could take over winterfell and resurrect the Stark clan from their tombs.

Also, any thought that Jon Snow possibly warged into Ghost his wolf just before he bit it? That was an interesting theory I read somewhere.
