Game of Thrones: Season 5 (aka A Feast for Crows + A Dance with Dragons)

My theory, especially after the extensive Rhaegar/Lyanna Stark talk is that John is the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna and Eddard Stark, who is repeatedly referred to as incapable of infidelity, brought Jon back after the war and said he was his to protect Jon from being killed with the rest of the Targaryeans after Robert took power.

    That's my .02.

Wouldn't everyone know if Lyanna had a baby or not?

Nope, she was kidnapped. The Targaryans knew she had a baby most likely, but dead people can't talk. Ned took baby John and cared for him. He could never tell the true story so he had to take the wrath from his wife as if he had fathered a child with a commoner.

So yeah, I think John Snow will be the Dragon Rider and rule the 7 kingdoms. I wonder what will be the events that that bring him to power. Will the Barathians be an ally or an enemy. That red witch has this all figured out already.

That's because they're from the same place, Braavos, which is where Arya is training now. Regarding the "one god" situation with Melisandre, its not exactly the same.

Melisandre believes in R'hllor, "the Lord of Light". That is the central god of that religion. The one god that the Braavosi refer to is not just specifically R'hllor. They believe their is only one god who has many faces, R'hllor just being one of them. They regard all gods of all religions equally, as they believe that they are all just facets of the one.

Oh that's "your" theory, is it? And you came up with that from last night's episode? Very impressive if so, mindblowing even.

As we saw on this past episode? Absolutely.

She has wakened the Tyrell presence in Kings Landing, while causing strife between her son and his wife. She has a set up Mace Tyrell to be killed and without Loras there will be a power vacuum in High Garden when Trant kills Mace. Armed the Faith, and considers them allies. Things went about as good for her this episode as she could've hoped.

Considering they spent an entire scene on Rhaegar and an entire scene talking about Lyanna, along with yet another hint at Jon's royal blood..yup..I'd say that's a strong indication of where they're going.

It's interesting you felt the need to quote me......"mind blowing even". (But really it's not surprising).

I don't know what's interesting about me quoting you, or why it would be surprising. You coming up with another theory? It's pretty simple actually; I quoted the posts that I was responding to.

Again though, that's quite the theory that you came up with after you watched last night's episode. A real game changer. I'm impressed.

Your edited remark has much more zing with the "you coming up with another theory?" line than the original response. Adds much needed "pop". Well done indeed. I approve.

I'm interested to see when we'll see the "Walker King" again. We had that one scene a few seasons back with the "Walker baby". At the rate the show is going and deviating from the books, id expect to see him sooner than later.

That damn R+L=J theory is pretty well-known throughout the A Song of Ice and Fire fandom. And some of you guys aren't labeling the spoilers.

Anyway...does anyone think Selmy is actually dead? Those Harpy guys didn't look like they landed a fatal blow. I'd say Grey Worm will be alive as well and just passed out. I'm more disappointed in the fact that the most fearsome slave army Essos has to offer is being beaten by these untrained (far as we know) former slavers -- even if they have the numbers advantage, I would expect the Unsullied and their superior organization to beat these fools.

Stannis' scene with Shireen was heartwarming as the seven hells. I'm starting to really like the guy as the True King of Westeros. And for ****'s sake Tommen, show some balls the way you did when Margaery gave you the P. Some fanatics threaten you and you wilt with a whole host of Kingsguard at your back?

Selmy's dead. Read an interview with him and he's definitely dead. I assume Grey Worm will survive.

I haven't caught up on my reading of the books, but the shenanigans she was pulling in the last episode seem a little shortsided. Instead of allying herself with the Tyrells, she's going to cause a rift, which may strengthen her in the short term, but puts a target on her back. As far as unleashing the Faith Militant, that would appear to be letting loose a bunch of foxes in the henhouse to deal with a mouse problem.

Yep, all of this. Which is what I'm saying as the credits broke she has to feel like she is winning the "game". Its sets up a very interesting next few episodes.

Everything is going according to her plan for sure. For now.......

I just can't see how this doesn't hit the fan. The 7 Kingdoms seem very weak right now. No strong leadership anywhere. We'll see what Stannis comes up with, but right now it's advantage Littlefinger. Of course if Dany gets her act together, it could be easy pickings in Westeros. Attrition has taken a heavy toll everywhere. If winter is indeed coming, there doesn't appear to be much resistance.
