If what is written in the books is true then Ice is now two swords so you have that, there are very few smiths who can work it, so who know if there is a way to craft more going forward, or how much or little of it is needed in a weapon, if you took all the swords from all the families and made arms that had a drop of the molten valaryn steel would those new weapons have the same power.
Dorne doesnt have a Valyrian sword. Instead there is Dawn owned by a family who has not been mentioned in the show. That sword is also ancient and assumed magical because of what its forged from. Im not sure I should name the family since its book spoilers.

Yeah, I mean you could assume there are more swords than I mention. Jon Snow got his from the Mormonts who were vassles to the Starks (now Boltons) in the north, so there could be more swords out there.

So all those wildlings that were brought back to life are wights.
Just to get this straight, you can kill blue eyed dead people with normal weapons or do the blue eyes need Valyrian STeel/Dragon Glass?

Because some lore I read about the White Walker King we saw last night is that he was human one.

Wights, its hard to say, the one Jon Snow fought in season one was killed by fire. He ran the guy through with his sword and that didn't stop him, at that time he just had a regular steel sword though. Many of the ones they fought last night were "killed" or looked to be killed by swords and arrows (many did not). We also saw wights be killed by the bombs the children of the forest threw at them last season.

We do know that Valaryn Steel and Dragon Glass kill white walkers quite easily. It would stand to reason that it would also kill wights. If we follow zombie lore, sever damage to the head would kill them too, but we also saw a wight that was missing half his head so...

I may be just a Debbie Downer but I wasn't as hype as the rest of the internet with this episode. I've been reading tweets saying this was the greatest episode ever while I believe the season has been so dry up until this point it made it look a lot better than it was. To me it felt like they were just getting back to "being Thrones."

Maybe its because I'm not huge into the white walker portion of the show, I like all the corruption, manipulation and back stabbing that goes on more than that portion.

I am glad winter is finally here though.

You should've enjoyed everything else then. Qyburn's convo with Cersi and Tyrion and Dany getting together.

I'm not sure why they made dragon glass daggers. Make Dragon Glass Arrows. White Walker says you want a piece of this. Sure, shoot him with the arrow. Winter over in a scene reminiscent of the Indiana Jones movie.

But anyway, if they don't stop Winter, Westeros is finished and all of the political stuff was just a footnote. Speaking of that, is Westeros only effected by Winter or does Winter come everywhere, if not, Dany should kick back and enjoy her reign in a country free of Winter.

I have a feeling Ramsey is going to get captured by the Red Witch and she'll use his blood to lead Stannis to victory at Winterfell.

Kinda afraid of what the kid is going to do about his situation when told to 'follow his heart' and all the 'Jon always comes back' foreshadowing. Half expected him to get stepped on by the giant.

Can't use Ramsey's blood. He doesn't have king's blood. He can be sacrificed to the God of Light but his blood is useless to her.

That's right, I thought it was noble blood.

It depends on the length/severity of the winter. The worst known, The Long Night, covered most of Essos and the lands beyond it.

The prophecy that Melissandre always speaks of, that Stannis is Azor Ahai reborn and will save the realm from darkness, was from that period. Azor Ahai was from beyond the lands of Essos and created a sword, Lightbringer, that helped end The Long Night.

Most of the Valyrian steel swords have been lost in battle. The only people we know of who have one (show wise) includes: Jon's Long claw(from Lord Comm Mormont), Brienne's Oathkeeper and Tommen's sword. The last 2 were made from Ned Stark's melted down great sword by Tywin. Also the the dagger Bran was almost assassinated with.

So there are definitely more out there, but they are still extremely rare.
