Edit: Did anybody else have their theater turn into a mini concert? Lol I swear there had to be 40-50 of us rapping along to the songs up until the end.

Our son works at the theaters and he said, since he started working there early in the summer, it was the trashiest theater to pick up and the most alcohol bottles they've found in the theater after a movie.

The people who didn't understand what the movie was all about complained to management about the noise in the theater.

Other than that, the employees felt everything went well.

Maybe I'm being sensitive, but why do people feel its necessary or even amusing to smoke and/or drink just because its a film about rap?

The parts about you younger guys singing along really shows how transcendent this film & NWA are.

This film def brings me back, growing up out here in LA during that time. I graduated high school in 88. I remember it all seemingly like it wasn't that long ago.

Oh man the stories I got from that era in time. Crazy **** for sure.

It's just stupid in general, sneaking in alcohol is one thing as long as you're not a belligerent drunk, but smoking is absolutely stupid. It's not that hard to do it before you get there if you want to

I went to the Friday 1140pm show @Arundel Mills in Maryland, so the movie let out at 2:45am+ - as late as it was, a good amount of people (young and older) were hanging around like they were at the club or something

Not sure if it's been mentioned: the guys that played Snoop and Tupac were really, really good in their brief appearances. Especially Tupac - dude looked and sounded *just* like him; people in the audience were visibly stunned

I think my favorite single shot in the movie is when

Snoop is walking into the studio at Death Row, and the camera pans up to the blue flag in his back pocket. I'm like "who the hell is this?" and then I hear him say "What's up, cuz?" and it clicked.

Thought that was a great way to introduce that cameo.

Caught it last night and definitely enjoyed it.

My favorite scene was

When they were in Miami and homeboy came looking for his girl and when he asked where he was at, E's response to his question was hilarious. And then of course the subtle Friday reference by Cube after they threw her out.

And when they started playing No Vaseline, I started singing that whole song word for word to my date and she gave me the "Bruh, really?" look.

I will say that I went into it with low expectations because I figured that they would hold back on certain issues but I'm glad to see they didn't. Also helps that I pretty much knew their history and backstories behind everything(I.E Eazy and Heller's relationship and how they were ****ing over the rest of the group/The Detroit Show/Cube and of course Suge's crazy ***)prior to seeing this but it was cool to get the actual visuals aside old *** VHS Tapes and Youtube and I'll def go see this again.

And it's funny because after the movie, as soon as I got in the Car, you know I had to bump that Chronic album and Straight Outta Compton. Got me right in the mood to bump some West Coast classics haha.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but just by going off the trailers and commercials, I can't argue with Jackson as Cube. He looks close enough to Cube, being his son, didn't know that when I first saw the trailer. And he probably knows all about this stuff that happened.

One of the best movies of the summer. Even at 2 1/2 hrs, it feels somewhat abbreviated and doesn't touch on everything it could. I think last two-thirds of the movie could've benefited from better pacing but overall it's very enjoyable to watch. Initially I thought the casting would be a weak point but turns out it was superb - especially Ice Cube's son as Ice Cube. The soundtrack is a huge strong point. As an east coaster I never really understood the appeal of Eazy-E; have a better appreciation for him now - although I think the movie could've been a classic if it hadn't glossed over some of the seedier aspects of the group; particularly Dre and Cube. Still, a really good movie imo

Good call about the pacing. From what I've read, that's a pretty consistent criticism and I concur.

I loved the first hour or so. There were a lot of iconic moments that made me smile during that stretch. I'll spoiler just in case, though it's nothing crazy:

The mid-80's dance club roots, Dre's outfits, Skateland, each member's origin, the dirtbike montage with "Just Another Day" in the background, etc.

The second half of the movie retained my interest just fine. It's just, it kind of felt like they were running down a checklist for the latter parts. There were so many things that had to be covered, it was as if they just ran through them one-by-one - with varying amounts of depth.

Question for you guys, don't think this is a spoiler but let me know - when Dre was spinning in his friend's bedroom near the start, was that a legit song Dre used to spin and run or just something made for the film? That was a pretty sick moment.

I saw the behind the scenes vid of that part and Dre was there teaching the actor all his mannerisms so assuming he picked the track to use.

Going to a crack house to complete a deal, things get a little heated with a disagreement and guns get cocked, then 5-0 comes with a ****ing tank battering ram. They hear it come and Easy is trying to get out a room with bars in the window. One girl needed to hide her **** and decided to put it in the ceiling, then ****ing the ram smashed through the door and rammed that bitch into the wall. Easy finally kicks in the bars, gets out and climbs up a fence avoiding a pit coming after him, and gets on a roof and gets the **** outta there. Straight Outta Compton.

Ha, thanks man. Turns out I missed way more than I thought. That's the stuff I saw in the behind-the-scenes and it had me wondering.
