Survivor 30 (15th anniversary): Worlds Apart

Show starts next Wednesday at 8pmEST. Will be a 90 minute season premiere.

Hopefully this season ends up being good. Last season was strange, it wasn't a huge standout season or anything, but it didn't really suck either. First time they're having back to back seasons of new players since Tocantins/Samoa 6 years ago!

Haven't watched any sort of preview/cast assessment or anything so don't know anything about the players. Will eventually watch it and post my thoughts before season,because it's always fun to watch this stuff before season and see who I think I'll like,who might be good or bad, and then compare by the end of the season. Last season didn't go the way I thought it would at all based on my cast assessment and who I thought would be final 3.

Surprising to see they didn't do anything real special for S30 considering S20 they went for the heroes vs villains stuff. Hoping they do decide to have another huge all stars season one day. An all winners season was one thing I heard people talk about, but that sounds like type of thing which might happen on the final ever season of Survivor(which doesn't sound like it'll be anytime soon since I believe it's been renewed for S31/32 already)

Jeffs cast assessment didn't really say much about the cast themselves, so don't really know who's gonna be good or not. Just based on cast bios, Max and So are the main ones I think I might like. Vince,Rodney are next on group of people I think I could like also. Not alot to go off of to really judge people, but cast in general doesn't seem to stand out awhole lot.

F3 for now at least,I'd hope of something like Max-So-Rodney(or Vince).


Just based on bios, my thoughts on ppl:

Carolyn-Slightly reminds me of Missy from last year,but smarter and more about family. And she likes Sandra(a contestant I didn't like)

Dan-Seems like he'll be an outcast on the season.

Hali-Smart and athletic, but don't know if she'll adjust on Survivor,maybe be a floater?

Jenn-Just seems like she's someone who's just happy to be on the show

Joaquin-Sounds like he MIGHT be good,but feel like he might just rub people the wrong way and get himself voted out cause of it

Joe-Might end up like Alec/Drew of last year. Seems like he has lots of potential,but doesn't do alot at camp or in challenges

Kelly-Just seems like a floater(and has a real short bio on the survivor site)

Lindsey-A hairdresser named Lindsey who has lots of tatoos...didn't we just have this? Hope she's better than the last one.

Max-I think he could be one of the faves of the season. Someone who really knows the game of Survivor.

Mike-I could see him going past the merge,but don't think he'll have a standout gameplay.

Nina-Can see her just being judged for her age or something(only 51,but that's old in Survivor age).

Rodney-Somewhat similar to Joaquin. Feel like he could have lots of potential in the game,but might just rub people the wrong way eventually.

Shirin-Smart and successful, but don't know if she's cut out for Survivor.

Sierra-More fit for Survivor than people will probably give her credit for,but feel like she'll end up like Jefra from last year

So-Somehow, I feel like she could be (best scenario) mix between Parv-Brenda

Tyler-Smart guy who could float his way far into the game

Vince-Similar to Joe. Could have lots of potential but all depends on how much he actually does at camp.

Will-Nothing stands out alot for him,though his fave contestant is Earl,so I like him slightly for that.

Enjoyed the premiere last night. Can't stand the guy with the feathers in his hair. He isn't going to last long.

lol, this is the fastest one of my final 3 predictions has been voted out. 1st one, really? That tribe is stupid for doing that. I hope they end up like the brain tribe from last year. Just lose challenge after challenge and become worst tribe in Survivor history. Other than Max, I don't care about anyone else on that tribe and I hope every other member on that tribe gets voted out soon.

It's her own fault. She wanted to be honest but went with Max, and then spilled all the beans at tribal. She should've let Max do all the talking about the "choices" they had and should've just been real about who they were thinking about voting out from the beginning. Knowing how to make the truth sound better than it really is should be a strength of the "white collar" folk. I'm going to miss her on my tv screen, but being so bad at that alone is enough to vote her out.

Great......another person I was liking on the season voted out! Was really hoping Jen would go cause she's annoying. As a matter of fact, all the younger women on the season have been real annoying so far(the red and blue tribes)

But this season in general really hasn't been good at all. And next weeks 2 hour episode seems pointless. 2 people probably going home and all,but just seems random to have 2 hour episode next week when they had 90 minute premiere and only had 1 person voted out then.

Too early for me to have real favorites, I don't even know most of their names. But I like the white collar guy with that was an assistant sports agent or something like that. The no collar guy, Joe?, gives off the Malcolm vibe, wonder how long he'll go. Blue collar I think I like the loud mouth tattooed girl, she can provide some entertainment for sure I bet.

It doesn't have anything to do with the upcoming March Madness on CBS does it? I know the Amazing Race is pre-empted because of it a week on Friday.

I don't believe that's why. Many games are played between Thursday-Sunday so that's why Amazing Race will be bumped,but the only Wednesday there is ever anything, is this upcoming Wednesday and Survivor is still airing on it.


The format they're using for this season I don't like so much. I'm not talking about the collars stuff, I mean the fact that we have just 1 challenge in the episodes. Meaning of the 40 or so minutes the show airs,you have several minutes spent on a challenge,several spent on a tribal,and then around 25-30 minutes spent on camp drama. So when you don't have such a good cast,and you're spending more time focused on the non challenge/tribal part of the show, it makes things drag out too much

The entire cast is horrible. Hopefully, someone emerges from this crapfest and gives me someone to root for.... but I doubt it.

Yep, it has been pretty lacklustre so far. Usually by now I would be able to tell you all their names just by looking at them. I don't think I could tell you the names of any of them off by heart. They need to put them into 2 tribes sooner rather than later. 3 is too many.

Yep, it has been pretty lacklustre so far. Usually by now I would be able to tell you all their names just by looking at them. I don't think I could tell you the names of any of them off by heart. They need to put them into 2 tribes sooner rather than later. 3 is too many.

Ditto. Cast is weak so far and I really don't like the 3 tribes thing. Gets into a numbers game far to quickly when they do that.

I actually like it better with more focus on camp dialogue/drama, it's just these people in particular that are annoying
