The Last Man on Earth (FOX)

Premiering today, Will Forte stars in a series about a man that is the last man left after an apocalyptic event removes everyone else on Earth. From the trailer, I can see that looks like a good series to watch. Let's hope this 1st episode is as good as the trailers suggest. The 1st episode premiers, tonight at 8 pm CST on FOX with a special 1-hour event of back-to-back episodes.

A comedy take on being the last man on earth? That sounds pretty interesting. I'll have to take a look at this.

It surprises me that people are interested in this as a premise. As a movie, sure I can see it, but for a series? It may do well and be great, but it's not something that I would ever watch. Interactions between characters is of prime importance in shows that I watch, so this concept is anathematic for me.

I'm still surprised Y the Last Man was never made into a TV series. I think it would have made a great one. This looks pretty interesting from the previews, definitely gonna check it out.

I think you mean the Will Smith blockbuster, I Am Legend. That movie was awesome. I still love the part where his dog eats from a bowl and won't eat this vegetables. He shoved those around with his nose and just eats the meat. Also, I love the part where he goes to the video store and talks to the mannequins cause they are supposed to be his only friends. The trailer shows a similar part where Phil tries to make out with a girl mannequin and he accidentally pulls off one of the arms.

From what I can see from the trailers, it looks like its going to be a funny series. Let's hope so. Sundays don't have enough hit shows.

Pfft...If you think the Will Smith version was good than I suggest you seek out the 1964 version with Vincent Price. Much better film IMO (it's called The Last Man on Earth)

Yeah I didn't think it was that good (the dog scene was heavy, but very sad), but I've never seen the '64 Vincent Price version.

The scene from the previews where he lays in a kiddie pool of booze and licks up salt looks pretty funny. From what I have found so far, the 1st episode will focus on him losing his family, I think. I hope its funny. Will Forte was really funny on SNL. This is his 1st series that he's starring in. I hope this series does well for him.

Will Forte is a pretty underrated SNL cast member. He was in a fairly funny comedy called Brothers with Will Arnette.

Well, it looks like the end of 1st episode had a surprise to it.

Phil is actually the last man left on Earth. It turns out that there's one last woman left on Earth. Her name is Carol. Carol is played by Kristen Schaal. You know her the one that plays the little girl Louise from the other FOX show, Bob's Burgers. The 2 get closer in the 2nd episode. I guess they're going to have sex at some point, this season. The 2nd episode ends, after Phil and Carol get married. No surprise there.

Kristen Schaal showed up. Always liked her from Flight Of The Conchords. She was hilarious when she insisted they get married.

I have always liked Will Forte and he was perfect here. I will keep recording it.

The Quiet Earth, if you haven't seen it, check it out. You can find it online to watch, but I don't think any of them are legal so I can't post them. It's basically a similar premise, guy wakes up and finds he is the last man alive.

Good start. I love the combo of Forte and Schaal, they played off of each other pretty well and should make for some solid laughs.
