It's like the Family Guy where the FCC censored Dick Van **** and the Dick Van **** Show title.

Never really watched Coach, but on the Jerry Van **** thing, he's been making appearences on The Middle (ABC) for just about every season. I'm sure he'd be able to do a couple guest spots on this reboot as well.

Luther was great, but if there's going to be two old coaches on this (Nelson is 70) I'd rather they cast Ben Stiller than Van****. Stiller could be the offensive coordinator version of Luther's def. coordinator. And maybe Van**** could have a guest role. Though Stiller is 87 & Van**** is 83.
I personally would rather see a new cast.
They could always have Coach mention Christine being at home, calling Coach on the phone, just not cast her role. In any event, I'd watch this every week.

They couldn't pay Stiller enough. He'd do a one-two episode(s) guest spot for a friend, but that's it.

I think he meant Jerry Stiller, I was really confused until he said Stiller was 87.

Jerry Stiller is all wrong for this, Van**** plays a masterful befuddled old man, Stiller plays a good loud overbearing old man. Not sure overbearing short works with Craig T Nelson.

I don't think you can just get an analog of Luther and Dauber and have the show work, at that point they are just a dude, playing a dude, playing another dude.

Yeah, should have realized that. Jerry Stiller is so hilarious though, but he is up in age.

                  New Info:

"Coach Hayden Fox (Craig T. Nelson) is called out of retirement to become an assistant coach alongside his son, who is the new head coach at an Ivy league school in Pennsylvania."

                  Apparently it will debut mid-season.

Back in the day, being a mid-season replacement series was pretty much a sign that a series was DOA.

Thankfully times have changed and i'm sure this new iteration of Coach will do well.

A couple casting notes over the past couple months... The son and daughter-in-law have been cast, the daugher-in-law is the red headed Wendy's spokesperson. Also Dauber is to be a regular, Luther may appear in a guest role, and Christine apparently has passed away due to actress Shelley Fabares' substantial health issues not allowing her to be in the show.

‎Andrew Ridings has landed the young lead opposite Craig T. Nelson in the studio's new Coach series for NBC.

Morgan Smith has landed a series regular role opposite Craig T. Nelson in Universal TV's new Coach series for NBC.

Coach co-star Bill Fagerbakke is set to join Craig T. Nelson as a regular on the network's upcoming 13-episode sequel to the 1990s sitcom.

The Wendy's girl is going to be a regular?

Well, this will be appointment TV.

Hopefully she's less annoying on the show than she is in the commercials.

She'll play the daughter in law of Coach. She's cute, but it remains to be seen whether she'll be a game changer.
