As we kind of expect these to be now, especially after moments in the fourth and sixth ones, commercials make it seem unbelievably outlandish. I've been there opening day of every sequel since Tokyo Drift (only didn't see FF2 in theaters), and I'm catching this one in theaters as well, but the early reviews (RT @ 87%) are also promising, actually making it the highest scored of all of them so far:

I was skeptical when Justin Lin bowed out and they brought in James Wan to direct, but it looks like so far, so good!

Ranking them in order from favorite to least favorite for me is:

This is only the second movie from the series that I've watched, and I thought it was a solid flick, but there were a lot of plot holes and moments where I had to completely suspend disbelief. The ending was really touching though.

It was fantastic. Bring tissues. And there is a SUPER meta scene with The Rock that I laughed at for 5 mins and I don't think anyone else got it lol.

I think Tokyo Drift was some of the worst/cheeses acting I ever seen for a major release.

Some of the action shots were awful. Just a lot of flying around. Gave me a migraine.

This being said, it took some serious willpower for me to not cry like a baby at the end. If they continue the franchise without Paul, it's gonna be a huge mistake, IMO.

Yeah, I just think Vin looked gassed. Not to mention all of the grieving that he (and the other cast members) have shown on social media and whatnot. At the very least, wait 3 to 4 years before releasing another. Though I expect to see 8 in 2 years.

This one was obviously hard to do. I hope they just come back for 8 in 2 or 3 years, and wrap up the angle with the Shaws and call it a day and retire the franchise. It'd make 5 movies with all of the core characters, then 8. I'd be down for that.
