Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
Some cliffnotes because I don't even know where to begin with this
-I was not mentally prepared for the Punisher to land in episode one. As mentioned, it was cast perfectly and the fact that I had to question if I was supposed to root for The Punisher for half the season speaks volumes. His prison fight reminded me of the Rorschach line "Let's get one thing straight: I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me"
-I actually think at times Elektra was more unhinged than The Punisher, which I vastly enjoyed.
SpoilerHowever, I think the scene at the end of the season finale could have waited to be the cold open for season three. They simply dropped too much at the end, between Matt revealing his secret to Karen and The Punisher's disc.
-Not enough love is being given to the diner scene. God, that was so heavy. And then the **** just kicks off, I have no idea how that's all the same scene.
Spoiler
-I was ready for a total Punisher Ex Machina during the final fight scene, and I was semi correct, but that was kinda disappointing especially considered how they head faked their way out of that grave (pun intended)
-Just calling my shot here, but I can see Foggy leaving Hogarth, Chao and Benowitz due to some bull**** against DD, even with Hogarth's relationship with JJ. Also, introducing Hogart in DD only means eventually we're on a collision course with Daredevil meeting Jewel or Matt Murdock meeting Jessica Jones. And I sincerely hope that happens.
SpoilerSecond, I find it odd that Karen was just given a reporter job. Did she go to journalism school? Does she even know how to write? Who cares! You're a reporter now! Seemed kind of odd. Interesting that both Karen and Foggy are in positions where their careers can be made based on the information they know about Matt. Given that Karen's belief in vigilantes may have been shattered by the Punisher it will be interesting to see how she responds to Matt's confession.
It's not such much "was given a reporter job" as it was "was contracted for an article". The New York Bulletin probably considered her as a stringer and her byline would read "Special To The New York Bulletin".
Also wasn't it mentioned that she had previously given journalism a shot and flamed out, like back in season 1?And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
So, that was pretty good, eh?
The things I thought made season 2 a smashing hit (in no particular order):
Not highly spoiling spoilers:
Spoiler*The evolving of the new uniform (initially hated it at the end of S 01)
*The inclusion of the billy club
*The Punisher's monologues .... all were "getting choked up" worthy
*The stairwell fight scene
*The slow evolving of the Punisher's costume and Fisk's new name
*The Fisk/Murdock exchange at the prison
*Karen's acting
*Stick ... every scene
*The reveal ... thought that should have been the very ending scene
The only cheesy moment through the whole season that I could recall was the utterance of "Daredevil must die." Outside of that, the writing was superb.Comment

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
Without question the best Punisher adaptation ever put on film imo. Watching the fight choreography in DD really makes it hard to go back and watch ARROW's fight scenes..lolEA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
Just finished the season and had a couple of questions:
Spoiler1. The part where Karen was interviewing Castle's ex-military guy confused me. Was this guy the Blacksmith? It looks like Karen sees that one soldier's picture and recognizes that Castle killed him, but that scene kinda confused me.
2. What's the deal with the "Micro" disc or whatever Castle took at the end?
3. Are we supposed to believe that Elektra is now going to help the Hand since they're bringing her back to life? Try not to spoil too much for me here...I kinda like the fact that I don't know the comics because it allows me to be surprised more.
4. What's the likelihood that Nobu is finally dead for good?

1. Yes. It confirms it when he says that he offered Castle a position like he did the other guy.
2. I was wondering the same thing.
3. I don't know if she will work for them (never really read Daredevil comics) but she will be revived.
4. He was decapitated, so I don't think he'll be back. I doubt the Lazarus Pit (or whatever Marvel's equivalent of that) can fix that lol.

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
For me, the show kind of jumped the shark in the season 2 finale...SpoilerI mean, the Punisher sees Daredevil without his mask and still calls him "red" even after being his lawyer. I would expect a different response. Also, why would Nabu just fight Daredevil alone when he had all those ninjas available. One last note, the detective ( I forget his name ) called for lights on the roof but yet nothing was there when the battle began. Makes no sense to me.Comment

2. Comic book license.... more dramatic
3. I don't think they had the equipment
All in all I think you're being pretty nitpicky to be classifying it as "jump the shark". On the contrary...this thing is just getting going.
SpoilerMan, that Capitals loss really got to you, eh?Comment

Yo foggy the real hero of this show
Get on his level
Only brother smart enough to not deal with the devil
When you go against mat, man you NEVER tap out
And who the broad that plays Elektra? I'd blow her back out

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
I'm through episode 7 of season 1. It started out a little ho-hum, but it picked up to me once Fisk hit the screen. Matt is still a little "meh" to me, but I like his supporting cast and Fisk is awesome.

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix Original Series)
Ya, I was a bit luke warm on the DD persona myself, especially the stature. But the way the fight scenes were orchestrated made up for it. I think I'm liking Charlie Cox when he's acting as Murdock himself. Really like him in Boardwalk Empire as well.Comment
